“Wonderful food, and great views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

This small, bright restaurant is on the bay front in Newport, The views are great , and if you want a window seat, call in early. They are closed on Wednesdays. There are some wonderful entrees listed, such as the steak and prawns. The meat was tender, and the grilled prawns were quite tasty. The mussels were BIG, and delicious. The wild salmon is outstanding. This night, they had a halibut special which I am told was flaky and delicious. One special desert you have to try is the Pot du Creme. It is like aCreme Brûlée-- which they have too--but caramel. We have never had anything like it. They serve beer and have an extensive wine list, but not a full bar. You won't be disappointed.

“fine dining in a fine town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

Newport is one of the nicest towns on the Oregon coast, and this is one of the nicest restaurants in this town. It is not on the ocean but on the bay, and dining at night gives you a spectacular view of lights in the harbor. The lighting is low and the walls are saffron and the mood is mellow. You will enjoy this experience no doubt as much as we did. The service was perfect, the food was wonderful, and the whole experience made me want to return for another trip to Newport.

“Newport's finest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 15, 2013 via mobile

We were spending the night in Newport & were looking for somewhere to eat on the waterfront, when we came upon this little gem. The clam chowder was awesome!!! The chicken & salmon were as good as we've had in Napa. The quinoa was dry, but the mashed potatoes were creamy & delightful. Try this hidden gem on the waterfront!

“Once again, I'm baaaaack!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 12, 2013

This is the 3rd or 4th time I've been there. I've never been disappointed. It's a small place so you might not get in immediately. The wait is worth it. Oh...be prepared for some sticker-shock. A salmon dinner was around $25. The view is spectacular, you're only 20 feet off the water. The interior decoration is superior. (They dumped some money into it). The service was great. In fact...everything was great. Except the bill. But I knew that was coming. I went with a group of 6.

“Best Clam Chowder”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

It's small, I recommend a reservation or at least call ahead. They view is wonderful. Non seafood lovers will find options on the menu. Try the chowder or the crab cakes or the mussels. Great sourdough bread from Pannini's!
