“Geat stay at the Newport Belle”
Reviewed March 31, 2007

We had a wonderful time in Newport, and a very good expeience on the New port Belle. The hosts, Nancy and Michael could not have been more cordial and welcoming.! We stayed two nights, and thought eveything about the place was wonderful. We especially enjoyed the "Happy Hour" in the living area - a great opportunity to meet people and have some interesting conversation. We would not hesitate to reccommend this B & B!!

We spent two nights on the Oregon coast at the Newport Belle Bed and Breakfast. This riverboat bed and breakfast in the South Beach Marina in Newport, Oregon was absolutely charming. The decor of the main living and dining areas is darling. Our stateroom was quite spacious and had it's own bath. The bed was comfortable and it was very quiet as well. Our host and hostess, Michael Wilkinson and Nancy Sims, couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming. They provided wonderful treats in the late afternoon (homemade cookies, wine, beer, chips and salsa) that hit the spot. They were a great source of information on the local area as well, providing tips on places to eat or visit. It was great conversing with them. They also allowed my husband to commandeer the TV in order to watch the USC football game being broadcast! Both mornings we were treated to a wonderful homemade breakfast. Nancy really went out of her way to accomodate my husband's quirky eating habits which we greatly appreciated. There were a number of other couples staying there as well and it was fun getting to talk with them. All in all, we had a delightful time and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying at the Newport Belle to anyone open to a totally different bed and breakfast experience in a lovely setting and hosted by two charming people!

My wife and I spent one night at the Newport Belle earlier this week. Nancy and Michael are new to the B and B business and absolutely great hosts. We stayed on the third deck in a small but comfy room with a nice view of Newport harbor. The innkeepers have lots of information available for visitors to Newport, a nice sitting area on the second deck that serves as a place to meet in the evening and where breakfast is served. Be sure to visit the aquarium.

The Belle is near the Rogue Brewery - a place that anyone interested in micros should visit.

It doesn't get better than this. You can't believe the views. We loved the Newport Belle B&B and its owner. We had access to the deck and the living room area. Beds are quite comfy and the sound of the lapping water was a heavenly lullaby. Breakfast was a gourmet feast. Can't wait to go back.

We just spent 2 days on the Newport Belle and had a wonderful time. It was mid week and quiet. Our room (#5) faced the beautiful harbor and bridge. We always want Ocean View...what could be better, we were "on" the ocean !. A storm during the second nite brought fears of rockin...but it never happened. The room was very comfortable and warm and the view was utterly fantastic. The sounds of the harbor were such a treat, the gulls, the fishermen, the sea lions accross the bay. The breakfast was wonderful, the coffee hot and flavorful. Nearby you can walk around the harbor preserve and talk to students performing their studies on the harbor and estuary. The Rogue Brewery is exactly 489 steps from the Newport Belles main deck, soon to be moved even closer. I was suprised that the bathroom was actually larger then some landlubber bathrooms and it was squeaky clean. We will be back !!! Art !

The Newport Belle is a beautifully restored and converted paddleboat. You don't need to worry about getting seasick as the boat is very stable. My room was very comfortable. The hostess/proprietor is wonderful and has a way of making you feel very comfortable in a grandmotherly sort of way. The breakfast was fabulous and being greeted with fresh baked cookies on our arrival was very well appreciated. A truly unique experience I would recommend to everyone who will stay in Newport. It really is the nicest city on the Oregon coast!

This was the most peacefull way to spend a few days in Newport. We've stayed in B&B's all over the world but never one aboard a boat. It truly was a delight from the gentle rolling from the waves to Sherry's entertaining conversation and delicious breakfasts. This is an adventure not to be missed!
