“Lovely place!”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

Wish we would have timed our trip to view the inside of the lighthouse. Nice stairs down to beach, but be aware of where you come out on beach. Had a bit of a look to find entrance to stairs on way back.

I loved the windswept landscape, the roar of the ocean, the beauty of the lighthouse. Don't miss it.

“Christo! Hold onto yer hat!”
Reviewed October 1, 2012

After arguing with Ranger Jane about $7 small dollars, she finally put the hurt on me and said, $10 for all these places you can go up the coast; that got my attention. I went in, after I got the pass for 10 days, and got out of the car. The door flew open, papers flying all around, and off I went. Unreal. Lighthouse was closed, but I went down to the stairs and tide pooled. Crazy time, fun! Totally worth it. Bring the curtain climbers! They'll love the beach. Dress very appropriately, it is cold and windy (in October anywhere). See the seals too! Go out low tide for treats!

“Nicely preserved piece of history.”
Reviewed September 27, 2012

Although this light-house has been decommissioned (due to its location), it's a wonderful piece of history from about 1875). It's a free tour at the park and each room has been decorated in the style of the period. It's VERY close to the historic district of Newport.
