We ventured to checkout the Yaquina Light house area, we will definitely be going back. The waters are pristine, and natural area is just gorgeous, and hope people will keep it preserved ❤️I could easily spend all day there. We will definitely take kayaks there in the summer.

The visitor center is great especially for kids. I recommend the lighthouse tours but get their early before they sell out.

Morning experience in late October weather perfect for lighthouse tour. Great guide who took us back in time to the life of a keeper family. Building itself in great condition and got to see the lens made in Paris and delivered for use still functioning. Information area has a historical exhibit even with games kids played. Grandkids enjoyed this as did adults. Outside the waves crashed against the rocks causing a lovely visual spray and to our delight we saw whales(2) coming in to feed as they gave off a little blow greeting. The Cobble Beach was fun for all to walk on at low tide. Overall, a lasting memory!!

They do tours inside the light house a couple hours everyday(if someone is available) if you get a chance do. My 9 ur old had a blast learning about lighthouses and loved climbing all the stairs to the top.

We arrived to book a lighthouse tour at about 9.45 am. Information centre does not open until,10.am so we waited. First tour is at 11 am and you are given an orange card to confirm attendance.

Tour is free but no children under 43 inches are not allowed to climb the lighthouse steps. We enjoyed the tour which lasted about 45 minutes.

Just be aware that you have to register for this tour, you cannot just turn up.

Entrance to the park is $7 per car unless you have an annual pass.

We stopped by here during our roadtrip and checked out the neat little lighthouse. Down below there's many steps to get to the black pebble beach which instead of sand it's all black pebbles. Great coastal scenery and worth the stop over.

Iconic lighthouse, beautiful coastal scenery, interesting beach to explore. This is way more than just a lighthouse -- there's lot's to see here and it's worth the short detour off the highway. But be prepared for some walking, including a significant set of stairs down to the beach (optional but definitely worthwhile). It was pretty foggy the day we were there in August 2018 (see photos), but we saw enough that it was still a worthwhile stop.

We had gone to look at the lighthouse when we saw the whale surfacing several times. We also saw lots of sea lions and sea birds
