“Great restaurants and shopping right off the beach!”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

Looking for delicious gluten free home made food? It doesn't get better than Nye Beach Market. Small in size but huge flavors and fantastic staff! Do not miss their gluten free clam chowder and gluten free bread! Great prices too-very reasonable. They are now our number one choice for food in the area!

Another place with outstanding clam chowder and healthy fried fish is Chowder Bowl, our former favorite place to eat in Newport. Also nearby is Nana's Irish Pub with great authentic recipes and perfect Guinness. We also have enjoyed the food at Cafe Stephanie when we can get in (packed in tourist season!) and favor the espressos and bakery items from the Panini Bakery.

For shopping, we always find things we want and reasonable prices at Raindance at Nye Beach. While it is a small shop, the owner selects great items and keeps it well stocked.

The Dapper Frog is another favorite. We enjoy the beautifully displayed works of art in glass, wood and other mediums. Seems we always walk out of the shop with something new to add to our home and uplifted hearts just from spending time marveling at the works for sale there.

We stay on Elizabeth Street at the Hallmark Hotel. All their rooms are ocean view. It is a large complex, but the staff treats You like You are one of the family. Their restaurant, Georgie's, is outstanding for seafood and the views of the ocean are excellent if You can get a window table.

Nye Beach is the small, friendly neighborhood everyone wishes they lived in. For those of us who don't, at least we can visit and feel as if we are a part of it every time we are there.

“Spend an afternoon!”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

Nye Beach is a cool place to spend a couple hours browsing in and out of shops, have lunch a couple brews and enjoy the beach. It has a lot of charm and lots of little hidden treasures to enjoy. It's a good place to wander when it's rainy out side and you have some time to kill.

“Beautiful Beach.”
Reviewed October 23, 2012

One can access this beach from several spots, but the easiest, meaning very close access without much of a hill climb on the return is in the small boutique district of Nye beach. Parking is adequate at all times except for the summer months when you might prefer to access near the bridge but not be so near the boutiques and restaurants with a small hike as well. The beach has lovely soft sand. A great family beach for summer body surfing, sand castle building or in winter, looking for agates after a storm or rough ocean. It has a bit of an upscale feel for the normally very casual cities of the area.
