This beach is fine if you just want to be on a beach and don't care if it's got anything interesting at it to see. If you want interesting or beautiful shoreline, there are tons of better places very nearby.

Ate at a great Irish pub, went into a great bookstore, lots of more upscale type shops then Historic Bayfront, huge 8 ft craved wooden sculpture near cultural center and beach.

We got lucky today with blue skys and sunshine. A gorgeous day in the neat little seaside area of Newport.

Clean sand beach. We did not spend a lot of time here, just a quick walk since it was a windy day.

This is an enjoyable little neighborhood of trendy shops and cafes very close to the beach in Newport -- a kind of miniature version of Cannon Beach farther up the coast. The highlight in the shops is really beautiful locally blown glassware. We loved the Savory Cafe, which looks like an ordinary pizzeria from outside, but also has delicious Hawaiian, pastas, Thai
, seafood and fusion dishes and great cocktails. Try the fish tacos!
