I've been going to Newport since I was a child. The Chowder Bowl has been there a long time, but now there are other good restauarants, a variety of shops, and attractive entry, signage, restroom, access to beach.

Newly renovated area with wonderful eclectic shops, museums, restaurants, bakery, and of course ocean access! Enjoy a walk on the beach, a great meal and then browse the shops for the perfect afternoon!

Nye Beach is what trips to the beach back in the 1960's were about. Lots of quaint little shops, good food to be had, and a really nice beach walk.

Interesting little shops, restaurants, and art center. Great food at Stephanie's; and thoughtful presentation of local art work on the waterfront. Very artistic, good quality clothes at Toujours, and lovely spot to watch seagtulls and sip coffee or chai. Love it there! Very quaint neighborhood that takes you back to the feel of a close-knit seaside town.

I love strolling around the Nye Beach area, checking out the lovely shops and having some great food. I have only been there in the summer. It's quiet and relaxing. I like checking out the local art in the Yaguina Art Center and in the galleries. This is not a bustling area, just a small place to wander around. It will always be windy in the afternoons - great for kite flying. I usually don't buy, but have found a few treasures in the shops.
