“Great place to stay! happy Memories :)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 13, 2013

My family and I have stayed here 3 times in the last 5 years, for 2 weeks at a time each time in the spring and summer. Each time was a great experience. The condo's are always kept very clean and are fairly modern. The condo we stayed in had 2 bedrooms and pullout bed in the living room, which accommodated the whole family. There was also a fair sized kitchen with everything you need and table which was nice for times when we wanted to cook 'at home" or for when we went crab fishing,we cooked our crabs in our room with instructions from the local fishermen. The condo's are very comfortable and spacious. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We also got a better rate as we stayed 2 weeks each time. All the shops and restaurants are close by so we didn't need to drive to much,Except to some of the beaches we wanted to visit and to the Aquarium and to the grocery store (we rented a car).We will stay here again next summer. Love "the landing".Wonderful vacation

This is a beautiful place to stay in Newport. We had a one bedroom condo that was very comfortable with a lovely view of the harbor - sunsets were very nice. A big bonus was the in-suite washer and dryer! About a 10-15 minute walk down to the shops but easy enough to do on a sunny day.

We just arrived home after our brief stay at the Landing. We were very impressed! The staff were both friendly and helpful. The one bedroom condo was spacious and clean. The king bed was oh so comfy!! The view from the room and large deck, BEAUTIFUL. We did not want to leave! Thank you to the staff for going beyond what I usually consider hospitable, you all certainly raised the bar. I hope they pay you well! :) We will definitely be coming back! See you soon. Russ, Amy, Haylie, and "V".

Room Tip: One bedroom unit was very spacious! It felt homey.

I would probably give this somewhere between average and very good but there are no "half" ratings. We were moving from Seattle to Phoenix and traveling down the coast with our two cats so I booked this place as a pet friendly stay for a night. The condo is large and roomy and well equipped. It just so happened the Christmas boat parade was happening just as we checked in and we enjoyed a teriffic view of it in spite of the nasty weather. The bed was comfortable enough and the condo was generally clean. What I didn't like? The furniture was stained in several places and clearly worn, perhaps the result of it being a pet-friendly unit. They had movies to rent from the front desk. We took advantage of that but were surprised to find a very strange selection...a lot of weird horror movies making up the majority of it. I was even more surprised that they charged so much for the bad movies. I thought the decor in the condo was pretty general and spartan. From the photos I expected something a little nicer. All in all, you really can't beat the location and view. And the pet-friendly units were a life-saver for us. I didn't get to experience all the amenities as we stayed just one very stormy night. Based on my experience though I probably wouldn't book this again if traveling without pets as I just expected something more, but if location and view are your main concerns then you might give this place a shot, the views and location really were spectacular. Skip the movie rental however, weird, bad selection and overpriced....find a redbox instead.

We stayed in a one bedroom unit on the first floor. Full kitchen, so with that view why go out? All units have a balcony that is actually useable.

Nice walk to the historic bay front along a wonderful board walk/walkway from the hotel. It is a great area to visit with lots of funky places, good eats, fresh seafood for sale and a nice brew pub to boot. Sea lions abound and they are very noisy and fun to watch. Rent a crab net and have a great treat. The hotel has crab cookers and BBQ's so no problem cooking them up.

This is condo hotel owned by various people so units may vary a little bit by decorations and the like. Ours was very nice and the owners had some great cookbooks and also some local menues to look at.

Not a resort with lots of amenities or planned actvities. But who needs it?

A little pricey, but you cannot beat the view!!!

Room Tip: First floor units are at a level with the public dock in front so there is a bit of a privacy issue...

Ever find a place that drains the tension off almost like being wrapped in some soothing vapor? We have!

They may not have a pool, a sauna, a breakfast or other amenities you might expect.

But, here’s what they do have. Every room, on the second and third floors, has a balcony that looks out over a marina, a busy harbor, and across the bay toward an oceanic museum, science center, and new NOAA Marine Operations Center-Pacific. Let the sun fall beyond one of the most picturesque bridge scenes on the west coast and the lights that surround the bay come on and there it goes – the tension is gone. It works best on summer evenings with your favorite beverage in hand but we were just there for a couple of days (Oct 28 & 29, 2012) and it even works when it’s windy and raining.

There is more to tell but that pretty much describes why we go back as often as we can and why we will keep going back again and again.

Room Tip: Get a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor at the far end of the building. You will be further from the ele...

We just stayed two nights on a weekend, checking in on a rainy stormy Friday. The lobby is really well done, plenty of area for sitting, pamphlets for local area attractions, books, movies to rent (for stormy nights) and a nice front desk reception. Check in is at 4 but our room was ready at 3 and they accomodated us with no problem. The office is open 24 hours if you need anything Next to the front office is a workout room if thats how you choose to relax (not me!). It may not be big, but then again, how much do you need while on vacation. No onsite restaurant or breakfast here, but Newport has plenty of places to go for that! (CHECK OUT GEORGIES!)

There is underground parking which is nice when raining but if you have a really large vehicle, like a large SUV, I think I would park above in the main parking lot, bigger spaces up there. We stayed on the top floor which provides the best views of the bay. There is an elevator to ride up in.

We were so happy with our condo, we rented a 1 bedroom and it was huge. We agreed we could live in something that size very happily, especially with the view! When you walk in, we had a hallway that led to the bathroom to the left, a nice large closet, then the bedroom to another left with another half bath, (very nice perk to have 2 bathrooms!) The bedroom was a nice large sized room with dresser, tv, 2 nightstands, king bed. Back out to the hall, out leads to the kitchen which is separated from the living room. Couple couches and chairs, gas fireplace, large flatscreen tv, table for working from on computer, everything we needed. The kitchen had all the dishes, cups, pots pans, and such if you want to make all your meals there, as well as a full size fridge. It really was very nice, clean and decorated well.

The best part for us was the view. I only wish we could have stayed longer. It was rainy and stormy our whole stay but we didn't care, it was still fun to watch the boats come in and out from the bay. You have a wonderful view of the Newport Bridge also from here. The property also comes with a lower deck that runs along the property, has tables and chairs for watching the views as well as large outdoor cookers for cooking crabs you can get off the boats if you choose.

No onsite restaurant but there is one next door at the Embarcadero Condos, a short 2 minute walk. Also all of the bayfront shops are a really nice short walk or if raining, then a very short drive. Ask the staff for directions to anything you want to go see, they will help.

All in all, one of our favorite coastal stays and we go every few months. We ususally get ocean view every time but this changed our mind on that, the bayview was every bit as neat! I highly recommend the landing

Room Tip: If you get the upper floor you will get the best view but the deck has no covering over it. The low...
