Strolling along the bayfront always provides entertainment and fun shopping opportunities. At the docks the sea lions bark; the pelicans and seagulls swoop in as fishing boats return after the day's outing. Numerous small shops line the bayfront, selling everything from kitschy souvenirs to high-end art. Painted murals on some of the buildings depict local scenes, including the Coast Guard's helicopters. And on rainy days visitors can go to a Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, or Undersea Gardens. There are also a variety of restaurants and drinking establishments to ensure visitors need not be hungry or thirsty.

For the scenery, wish there were more to occupy time vs paying for an attraction that takes me inside.

Very enjoyable, even in rainy weather. We had a super seafood meal and enjoyed the shops there. There are many fishing boats and lots of restaurant choices.

Great shopping and eatin. My teenager was really excited to go to the wax museum and Riley's, but they are both close on Tuesday and Wednesday during winter. The only two days we were in town.

Every year a group of us ladies who lunch hit the Newport Bayfront. One of our favorite shops, the Cat House closed a few years ago, but the owner kept his kitchen shop open. Sadly for us he is retiring and closing the kitchen shop. There are other fun and interesting places to pop into and you can easily waste a few hours here. Lots of places to eat and buy fresh local seafood.
