“Best Bakery In Newport”
Reviewed September 22, 2013

I like Pannini's. I've been going here for years when I visit Newport. Its consistant, friendly and has excelent Bread, Pastry, Pizza and Good Coffee. I recomend it as a place to relax and have a quiet moment either early or off rush hours. If your there and it's busy, take a breath and relax, open your ears, and learn a bit about where you are.

“Not a Bakery and Needs Cleaning”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

The Panini is not really a bakery, unless you count pizza and one kind of cupcake (if you're lucky enough to get there in time before they sell out). The woman at the counter on Monday September 2 said they usually sell out of their baked good by 10 a.m. ???? Well then the bakers should make more considering they're open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The black bottom cupcakes are amazing and the best thing in Newport, if again you're lucky enough to get one. The pizza is very original, great tasting, and slices are big.

The staff is friendly and courteous, though could spend more time sweeping the floor, and giving it a really good wipe down (including the backs and seats of chairs) rather than standing around chatting to the cooks. The rest room door is dirty and looks like it might get washed once in a blue moon. Seeing as the staff can't be bothered to care, perhaps the owner could assign someone in the cafe to wash the door a few times a day seeing as it's covered in grease and flour. It's not just their personal rest room, it's for customers and DOES leave an impression, so make it a good one!

I also recommend that they remember the music they're playing shouldn't just be music THEY want to hear - something a little more mellow and less hard on the nerves than Led Zeppelin. After all, it's a cafe for guests of varying ages and tastes who would like to relax and enjoy their time there. Hard to please everyone, but something a little less intrusive and hard would add to a more pleasant experience. e.g. mellow jazz - Miles Davis, Chet Baker.

“A far cry from a bakery in my book.”

Latte was all foam. Not much selection. Special was disappointing. Food took longer than we were told. But kids loved the ham and cheese croissants.. though they were not a regular croissants.

“Bohemian atmosphere...great baked goods, coffee, soups and sandwiches.”

Try the grilled eggplant sandwich or just about anything on the menu..you will not be disappointed. Only drawback is that there is limited seating and this is a very popular place.

“Fresh bread at its best.”

I love stopping here for a seeded baguette. This time I had baked eggs (with ham, spinach, and garlic) and a cinnamon roll. The eggs also came with three large slices of baguette. Delicious!!
