One of our favorite 'lesser known' restaurants in Newport. Chin works really hard to make the food here great. She is talented beyond the menu. Just ask and if she has what it takes she will make any Thai dish you can think of. Ask for Calamari salad for Thai style Calamari and dressing. Greens always fresh and she will not use any ingredient that is not. Bay front view and a very relaxing place that we enjoy all year long. Full bar is stocked with the necessities and if you know you'll want something special, call ahead and she will probably get some for you.

If you are looking for a fresh from the sea meal this is NOT the spot. This place is an oriental mix. We were the only table and our waitress was the server, bartender, cook, and cashier. She did it all and the service reflected it. I will say she tried her hardest but the overall experience was lacking. The food was okay. I was expecting American sea food and that is not what this is so don't be caught off guard.

We stopped for a late lunch while on vacation and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and in particular the Clam Chowder. Also the Key Lime Pie is unsurpassed. Sail Inn was a fantastic option with a nice view on the harbor. We would definitely return here on a future trip.

My husband and I stayed in the apartments above the restaurant with another couple. They had one side and we had the other. We loved it. Both had full kitchens with adjoining door and patio overlooking the bay. Easy walk to all the shops and restaurants and quiet. The owner seemed nice but we did not get to try the restaurant below as they weren't open for breakfast and didn't stay open very late. The only problem was the parking was limited and tight so my hubby was nervous about door dings. Also the there is a metal spiral staircase that takes u to the bedroom upstairs and I wouldn't want to have too many drinks before attempting to climb down to go to the restroom. But we all made it without any accidents..we plan on returning next year.

If you just need something to satisfy your hunger, you'll do fine here. If you want something good, skip it. We couldn't wait for Local Ocean down the street and the kids were breaking down hungry. They were satisfied with the average fried food and shirley temples. Us parents made it through by virtue of the bloody mary's and the views, but the food, ugh... and the waitress was friendly, slow and covered with food spills. I would say adequate in case of emergency.
