“Great pecan pancakes”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

We really enjoyed our breakfast - especially the pecan pancakes. The combo plat with pancakes, eggs and bacon was just perfect. I'm not a big lover of pancakes but these were so good. Wish I had the recipe. Yum!

“Great For Breakfast But Lunch is Good Too!”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

We usually eat breakfast here when in Newport and they have all been excellent. This time we tried lunch and were also pleasantly surprised. I had the crab Louis salad which had plenty of fresh crab and the blue cheese dressing actually had ample blue cheese crumbles In many places this dressing can be disappointing. My wife had a ham and cheese sandwich, pan fried, with a slice of pineapple on top of the ham, a good combination. Parking is easy as they have a large lot next to the restaurant. If you are approaching from the north turn at the traffic light prior and go around back .This is safer than a left turn as 101 traffic can be heavy. Also ask for the discount card. After you spend a certain amount (I forget how much) you get $5.00 off your next bill. Pig and Pancake is a small chain that operates on the Oregon coast with three restaurants,

Super busy which slowed the service but everyone was very friendly. Parking was easy and the food was good.

“Wierd Name, Good Food, Especially the Chowder”
Reviewed July 9, 2013

We stopped here on a whim, at around 2 pm in the afternoon (they close at 3pm). We had a variety of meals: French dip sandwich, a chowder and salad combination and the beer battered fish and chips. First the sandwich, it came with a salad before the meal. The sandwich itself was small looking with a decent side of fries. By the time the sandwich, salad and fries were finished, the person eating that meal was full and was reported to be very good. The soup and salad combo was a bit on the small side, and that person came up not being full, but the chowder was reported as excellent. The beer battered fish was reported to be excellent as well, fresh and not greasy. Overall a good experience at a very casual restaurant with good service and decent prices.

“Just what we expected”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

Good breakfast, although marginal "coffee" (didn't try the "special order", just the counter coffee)

Ref Journeyman664's review. Evening specials would be tough, since they -close- at 3PM.
