Very good food--try the crab cakes, very nice. For the non seafood eater try the flatbreads, very good. The service was nice and a wonderful building feel. When weather is good the outdoor area is a great view of harbor.

We ended up here when some other spots along the street were full. The place has nice views of the bay, a decent menu and the food was quite good.

We had crab cakes, salad and fish and chips all of which had nice flavor. The crab cakes were delicious!

Service was friendly and the prices were reasonable. We'd go again.

When we first discovered 839 a few years ago, we really liked it and were impressed by their originality in Newport. Now however, it appears as though the excitement and passion has gone out of the place. What was once an interesting tapas menu, is tired and doesn't have great quality food items. The drink menu doesn't appear to have changed in years, and the entire place is starting to look grubby. Service is fine, but not what it once was. A deep clean and a little creativity is necessary to turn this place around from what appears to be a downward slide.

A small bar area with a fun yet classy surfboard decor, opens into a larger lounge with long, low couches, natural wood paneling, and a relaxing ambiance. Perfect for a friendly gathering or a deep discussion. Friendly staff and great drinks top it off perfectly.
