The windswept trees make a pretty backdrop for pictures and the beach is very nice. Good place to take a quick break from the coastal drive.

If you are looking for a less crowded beach in the Newport area, Lost Creek State Park is a great place. It is a short walk downhill from the parking lot to the beach, and is not overly strenuous. This beach can be a great place to hunt for agates especially during the winter.

We enjoyed the rock hounding here. If you stop during lunch time, have a picnic at one of the tables, lots of trees and a handy bathroom.

I go quite often as we have a place nearby. The garbage cans are usually overflowing. The bathrooms are dirty. They took out the grills from the picnic areas.

This is a pleasant small State Park, located about six miles south of Newport on Hwy 101. The parking area looks directly out onto the ocean, so if the weather is bad, you can sit and watch the waves without getting wet. There are restrooms and a few picnic tables, and a short walk down a slight hill brings you to the beach.

This is a popular spot to find agates, as the beach is somewhat rocky. Although winter is the best time to find agates, there are often people out on the beach hunting for them at low tide all through the year.
