“Not my kind of hotel.”
Reviewed May 27, 2012

The hotel said ocean front and it's at least a city block or two away from the beach. There are houses and other hotels in between. The room was OK. There was a funny smell to it and the refrigerator had dried juice down the side of it.
The biggest disappointment was probably the continental breakfast..it was more like a cheap snack bar. The pastries were all packaged from the dollar tree and they had thrown in some slices of bread and english muffins in sandwich bags.
I wont be staying here again!

Where can I start. At least it has an "ocean view" from up on a hill with 5 rows of houses and a Shilo Inn between it and the ocean. That's all the good. I mean, I wasn't expecting the Ritz here, but something not nearly as bad as this! First off, It is across the street from a porn shop! Next, the condescending teen behind the counter wouldn't let me have the 2 bed room I paid for, so she put me in a 1 bed room for the same rate as the larger room! The first room smelled like urine and vomit together and had a broken security lock, and the curtain was missing the dark backing, so I asked for different room and a discount since she put me in a single. The most she would give me was $10 off. The 2nd room smelled okay, but all the furniture was severely beaten up, the toilet lit was missing a corner, and the microwave door was cracked. And the extra lock was broken too! The bathroom was filthy, the fridge was loud, and the WiFi signal from the Shilo 2 blocks away was stronger than our's! I was too tired to look for another room, so I decided to make the best of it. I was awoken by the sound of loud crashing and the feeling of the whole hotel shaking. Not an earthquake, but it was strong gusts of wind from the ocean! The eaves also got pushed up and down! I thought the building was going to collapse, which it might do if this keeps up!! I laid back down, and in the morning when took a shower, I got athletes foot! Also, if my itching is any clue, there were bed bugs!! All in all, it was my worst stay ever, and I would rate it 0 stars if I could!! Stay someplace else!!

Room Tip: Stay at a nicer hotel!!

I had reserved an ocean view room with two queens. Our check-in took more than 20 minutes---the two desk attendants were trying to figure out the reservation of one other guest who had apparently booked online. They were quite pleasant, but extremely inefficient.
The first room they ( finally) assigned us had a broken heater. The room we eventually got had two double beds, not queens, and a lovely view of the parking lot. By this time we were so weary and didn't want to have to wait - again - that we just settled.
The room was clean enough, but definitely could use updating. One small wall heater was barely adequate. Toilet seat didn't fit the toilet. Noise from the room upstairs was terrible. Perhaps a top floor ocean view room - as we were supposed to have - would have been better.

Room Tip: Top floor to minimize noise.

If I could Give this Zero Stars out of 5 Stars I would but I cant. Most disrespectful workers I have ever seen. We told them we wanted to stay 3 nights and on the 2nd morning we were barged in on by an employee. The only thing stopping here form coming all the way in the room was the bolt lock on the door witch has to be unlocked from the inside. Also she did not apologize at the door or when she was confronted by me. Not good for the money horrible service form the workers. Don't Stay here and wast money. They deserve -5 stars out of 5 stars.

front office staff very helpful- ocean front room nice and comfy but beds needed to be replaced -seemed to be falling apart at the seams---2 bedded queen size rooms were small --had two chairs but no table and first hotel room ever been in with no coffee pot! gone all day and when returned afternoon-- room had still not been cleaned --had to hunt a cleaning person down to ask them to clean room ---morning breakfast was far from superior -coffee, fruit, juice, and pastry---only thing hot was when you used the toaster.

Room Tip: check out the room first!!!

We stay at the Econo Lodge frequently annually. This time the weather was foggy, buit very enjoyable. Lots of wonderful pictures. Really like staying at the Econo Lodge because the room accommodations are excellent, the manager at the front desk has excellent customer service, and easy to get to many local doings with great beach access. There is golfing at Agate Beach, great course. Our little dog really likes these trips. Our housekeeper is the greatest. We have lots of friends there as well.
