While traveling up and down the Oregon coast decided to try Oscar's after reading some of the reviews in Tripadvisor. Staff was very quick and got our order out right away. Had super tacos as good as South Side of Chicago tacos. I always judge a mexican restaurant on their rice and pinto beans and if they aren't good then the rest of the meal isn't. Well their beans and rice were excellent. And when you looked around it was filled with all of the "locals" so that tells you that there must be some good authentic mexican food there. Gave it a 4 because the restaurant itself is kind of run down, ceiling falling down in some places, booths kinds of old. But you can overlook that because food was so good.

Super Oscar's is a great hole in the wall family restaurant in Newport. Lots of parking for big rigs and they are open 24/7. If you are the senior, the beverage is free with meals and it is a self serve. Compared to the Mexican places we have been to, the portions are very generous even though they have scaled them down a little. Bring your appetite. The Chimichanga is $6.50 ala carte and it comes with some fixings. The food is typical Mexican, nothing out of the ordinary, sometimes the food could be a little warmer. The place is fairly clean and the service is quick. We like to stop there because it is so conveniently located along the 101 and the meal will not break your budget.
Give it a try.

This place is wonderful. Portions are big and plenty, prices affordable, taste is phenomenal.
My favorites are the Carne assada burrito and the adobada burrito. They're huge and filled with meat, No rice and beans fillers.
Other favorites are their meat quessadillas, and their cabeza tacos.
You get free pickled carrots and jalapenos with your order (delicious).
Whenever I'm in the area I make it a point to stop and indulge. Sometimes I dine in, and sometimes I take it "to go" to savor later.

Super Oscar's has great authentic Mexican food. It's food that you will crave once you've had it!! The help at the counter can sometimes be abrupt but the food I think more than makes up for it!!!
