Ever since Nana's opened, we've eaten here frequently.
We're locals!

The food is outstanding - the service is usually pretty good.

Here are some things you might like to know:

--> They are ALWAYS busy.
Much much busier in summer. If you want to eat here in a less bustling atmosphere, come at odd times.

--> The inside is usually VERY loud.
It's worse if they are very busy (see above). There is outside seating on the patio which is always quieter.

--> The patio allows dogs and other pets.
We've seen big dogs shake hair around and small dogs and cats sit on the tables. It doesn't bother us, but if you don't like sharing your dinner with animals, eat inside :-)

--> Parking can be tough. You may have to walk a few hundred yards. I do not recommend that motorhomes even come to Nye Beach as the streets are quite narrow.

--> The Irish specialties are the best.
Okay, I admit that we've seldom ordered anything else! The Bangers & Mash, Sausage Rolls, Guinness Pie, Scotch Eggs ... and more ... are all just delicious.

We'll always be back :-)

Nana's Irish Pub was recommended to us when we were staying in Newport. We liked it so much that we visited it every day we were there. The happy hour is a great deal - $3.50 draughts and yummy apps. We enjoyed the smoked salmon spread and emerald isle chips, and you couldn't ask for a better pour of Guinness. Over a period of three days, we also ate the steak and Guinness pie, the chicken pot pie, the traditional Irish breakfast, and the fish and chips. The food was hearty and filling, with ample portions. We also had the apple raspberry delight for dessert (two days in a row), and it was lovely. Nana's itself has dining both inside and on the patio, and the service was top-notch every time we were there.

Sat outside on a beautiful sunny day. The place was packed at 530 pm on a Wednesday, always a good sign. I had the steak and Guinness pie and it was fabulous. Wonderful flavor, vegetables and tender beef with a crunchy top. My husband had the meatloaf and enjoyed the sauce!! What's more it was a great value. We sent our adult children there the following week and they thought the happy hour was great. Check it out if you are visiting Newport

I know most travelers at the coast want to eat seafood. Once you have your fill of fish consider eating at Nana's and get one of the pot pies. Even meat lovers will enjoy the curried veggie pot pie. I myself, a chicken keeper, break down and eat this bird when baked into one of Nana's pot pies!!

We grabbed a late-afternoon appetizer -- cups of clam chowder. It was too cold to eat outside, but the inside of Nana's is always warm.

Our previous favorite chowder experience was at the now-missing Nye Beach Inn. This was close, and the soda bread was excellent. The drinks -- Rogue Brutal Bitter for me and an Irish coffee made to my wife's specs -- were excellent.

Service was quick, friendly, attentive.

We've eaten here numerous times -- at the bar, in the pub and on the patio. Service, food and atmosphere is consistently excellent.
