This was a nice aquarium, but a little on the small side for the price. There were some really nice exhibit areas for small children.

I was unsure about visiting, my only other aquaruim experience was Shedd in Chicago and it left me never wanting to go to another one. I found Oregon Coast Aquarium to be clean, bright, beautiful. The underwater tunnels are full of sea life and really fun to expreience. I enjoyeyd the touch pools a much as the kids. I found it to be worth the price.

We liked this aquarium as much as the ones in Monterrey, CA and Boston, Ma. This time, we really took our time looking at all the smaller exhibits, including the touch pool, where volunteers encourage you to feel the various animals and talk about them. The underwater tunnel is comprised of three long sections and hundreds of fish, sharks and more. There is currently some construction finishing up for the sea lions and seals but the otters were playful and the grounds are designed for the young (and young at heart). Single and double strollers, regular and electric wheelchairs are available for rent, parking lots for cars, trucks, RV's, two gift shops with beautiful and educational items, a coffee bar with assorted drinks and snacks. Some people feel that the cost is too high; it's comparable to a moderate dinner out here in Newport before you consider the discounts available. First, general admission is $16.95 for ages 13-64, $16.95 for seniors 65+,$11.95 for kids 3-12, babies and toddlers are free. Lots of discounts available, usually around 10% for AAA, military, birthday with ID (FREE), and group rates. Residents of Lincoln county can visit every Wednesday for only $5. Not only is this a non-profit dedicated to public enjoyment, education, and involvement, it's a great way to spend an easy 1-2 hours and remember our connection to the seas around us. Smell the fresh salt air, touch a sea anemone, talk to the otters with your children.

I must say that for the money I was very disappointed. It's very small and does not have that much to see. I've been to many aquariums and this rates the lowest. The seal exhibit was closed due to construction, which was very frustrating as that seems to be one of their main highlights. It would have been nice if we were told this before we bought the tickets or at least got a discount on admission.

Construction going on but you can't get around that sometimes. Very clean. Nice volunteers. Get there early. Got really busy as we were leaving.
