The layout for this aquarium is wonderful. It is an adventure for young and old alike. The outside area is shaped by paths through large coastal rocks. The octopus is in a dark corner, the sea otters are available for easy viewing both above and below the water. The "Passage of the Deep" was something that enthralled young and old alike as we watched the fish and sharks swim around us. The aviary was special in that the birds were very acclimated to having people around and they would swim up to the edge of the pool within touching distance of people. Touching is not allowed, hence their comfort and the wonderful views of Tufted Puffins, Murres, and other seabirds. This was the best seabird aviary I have every encountered. I really like being in with the birds, no glass between us. It was well worth the price. We also experienced the "Octopus Encounter" and paid to learn more about the octopus and get a chance to pet it and have it attach to our hand with its suction cups. Very cool. It is worth the extra price to be able to pet and feed the sea creatures.

ONLY DOWNFALL, THE RESTAURANT IS NOT OPEN.

This is such a nice aquarium! I love the jelly fish tanks. The otters are so fun and playful to watch. I could watch them for hours. The puffins and the other birds are adorable. Just be careful when they are "taking a bath." I think they spash their onlookers on purpose. The volunteers offer little tidbits of info, like the puffins look different in summer and winter. Who knew. AAA and AARP discounts are offered. That is helpful. It is a large and spread out facility so it doesn't seem really crowded. I would definitely return.

This is a wonderful small aquarium displaying the marine life of the Oregon stretch of the Pacific Ocean. It would be a mistake to miss it if in the Newport area.

Haven't been to the aquarium in years and was pleasantly surprised with all the new exhibits. Lots of volunteers on hand to explain the different exhibits. Wonderful experience!
