“Beautiful place to walk around!”

Being from the Chicago area, I'm used to our Shedd Aquarium, where everything is inside. So, I was in for a bit of a surprise at this aquarium --- and that there were so many areas outdoors. It was really great -- the exhibits are beautifully done, and it's so cool to be able to get really up-close with the animals. It's also really nice that there are docents around, giving information about the animals. Very cool!

“A Must See, Very Awesome”

I just love the Oregon Coast Aquarium!! Great selection of marine life, even a shark exhibit where the sharks swim all around you!! I was privileged to be here when Kaiko was here. Since then however, this has not been other similar shows like at Sea World, but still worth it!!!

We took my mom and 6 year old nephew, and we all enjoyed the aquarium very much. We particularly enjoyed the sea otters.

There is barely anything to see. I have been 2 times.I waited two years in between visits.I had hoped they would have added some stuff to make it more interesting, but they didn't.

“I love this aquarium!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 5, 2012

This is our 3rd visit to this aquarium - we try to make it down here every few years. The exhibits are great for all ages. You can wander around and see exactly what interests you and check out the live displays, which are divided into separate "zone-like" areas, which makes it easy to go from area to area, depending upon how busy it is. If one area seems busy - maybe you arrived at the advertised feeding time and you'd rather not deal with crowds, you just visit another area and return, without "losing your place". They have a very good docent program, with volunteers situated throughout the aquarium to answer questions and provide info and many have science backgrounds, providing fascinating tidbits of info. The hands-on area is particularly interesting, where you can touch and feel various anenomes, abalones, etc (& have them touch and feel you!) Two small critiques: 1. There are wonderful photographs with accompanying editorial copy, which are often very difficult to read as they are in unlit areas with no spotlights on the written info. 2. Every time we go, we see lost people trying to figure out the entrance signs directing you into the parking lot and where to enter the aquarium. The signage could be improved upon. It's not cheap, but it's a very worthwhile place to visit - always enjoyable.
