“What a view!”
Reviewed September 3, 2008

My mother found this incredibly picturesque B&B for our family to take over en masse for a few days as we roamed around the state of Oregon, and it could not have been better! From the wonderful views of the vineyards sweeping down the ridge behind us to the soothing sound of the waterfall at night, to the surprising sight of hot air balloons floating amongst the wispy clouds over coffee one morning, there was no shortage of amazing moments that we all took away with us. Kristen and her husband took great care of us, catering to our special food requests and providing us with a wonderful home away from home. We all hope to return some day - seven thumbs up!

My father, the non-Bed and Breakfast person, even had to admit this was a great location- the views are amazing, the breakfasts were delicious ( I would love to bring Kristen home with me to cook breakfast like this everyday!), and the location terrific. The easy access to all of the wineries, good restaurants, and things to do made this location a great way to spend three days in the Willamette Valley area.
Kristen was a terrific hostess, accessible without being intrusive, and is very knowledgeable about things to do and places to go. Really, you don't want to go far as sitting on a balcony is enough entertainment; the view is absolutely amazing, even better with a late afternoon glass of wine (or two). I could easily get used to living like this all of the time.

My wife and I so enjoyed our stay in May we brought our best friends back in Aug.!
This B&B is one of a kind, not only in its fabulous location on a hillside overlooking the lush winecountry, but in its design uniqueness and in its delightful host/owner Kristin who prepares gourmet breakfasts and who is inconspicuously present for your needs.
There's so much to do locally you'll definitely need to stay at least two nights! Enjoy!

We just returned from 4 fabulous nights at Chehalem Ridge B&B and we really enjoyed our stay. Fabulous view that absolutely has to be seen to be believed.

Hostess-with-the-mostest Kristin has a kickin' sense of humor and mad-hot breakfast skills. Seriously, the girl can cook. For those who have special dietary restrictions (can't eat wheat, lactose intolerance, nut allergy, etc.) she is more than willing to accommodate and substitute. Every meal we had was superb. I'm still salivating over her scones and her blueberry crumb cake. And the "estate grown" blackberries were fabulous too!

The B&B is cozy and comfortable, with guests invited to chill on one of two outdoor patios connected to the main house, and two different living room spaces--one with a fireplace and one with a TV. The decor throughout is tasteful and subtle. We were fortunate to get a tour of all the rooms, and each has a theme but none are over-done or kitschy. We really appreciated both NOT having a TV in our room and the presence of an iPod compatible clock-radio. A nice perk.

Kristin and hubby Curt (a complete sweetheart too) had lots of great suggestions for places to eat lunches and dinners, as well as tips on which wineries not to miss, and what ambiance could be expected at tasting rooms (small and intimate? crowded with hipsters?).

We loved it. We'll be back, and we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else on our next trip to the Oregon Wine Country.

Amazing view, amazing food. The hosts were friendly, welcoming, and full of information about local attractions, restaurants, and wineries. We enjoyed wine and cheese on the deck. If you are into bird watching, there is plenty to see. You can easily get to Portland and all the Willamette Valley wineries and towns from Newberg. Definitely worth a visit.

My parents found this and we all stayed there when they and my in-laws came to visit Portland. Such a beautiful property! Incredible views of the Yamhill Valley, lovely rooms to stay in (although, with such large windows, I guess the room could have used blackout shades at 5am), and the kindest innkeepers I think I've ever met. One of them was formerly a pastry chef, and the breakfast they made was absolutely delicious.

The best part was: my inlaws don't drink regular milk. So at some point that evening, the innkeepers drove out to the market to pick up lactose-free milk for my inlaws to put in their coffee. It was just such a considerate thing to do, I was really touched.

We also enjoyed poking through their small library, and managed not to steal any books, though we were tempted. And lastly, their recommendation for dinner (the Painted Lady) in Newberg was perfect. I don't know when I've enjoyed a weekend with my inlaws (!!) more.

We recently spent 2 nights at Chehalem Ridge B & B. An Inn with great views, private balconies, contemporary decor, tasty and inventive breakfasts and great innkeepers. Kristin was generous with dining and winery recommendations, and quick with maps and directions. A beautifully kept Inn. Sitting on the deck over the beautiful Willamette Valley, watching soaring birds or deer & squirrels nearby, it was as restful and enjoyable as we could have hoped for.
