The rooms here are spectacular by any standard. Huge, luxurious and include a nice working fireplace. Any request is met with acknowledgement and then they carry it out expeditiously. Dining is exquisite. It is a bit out of the way, an hour or so south of Portland but if you want "quiet" and peace, this is the place. About half an hour away we were surprised to see the Spruce Goose, yes the Hughes aircraft in an aeronautical museum (Evergreen Aviation and Space). The coast is a pretty good drive but you might consider a balloon flight across the vineyards that cover the area. The Allison Inn and Spa has a rooftop vegetable garden. Breakfast is peaceful and delicious. Before you go, check out the theatre in Portland. It's a great evening and close.

Room Tip: Any room is good

We used the hotel as our base for visiting wineries...very convenient. Service was amazing,,,valet parking, bell desk, housekeeping, front desk, all great. Grounds are beautiful. Our room was quite spacious...we especially liked the window seat with garden views. Didn't try the fireplace, but it might be nice in the winter. Spa was a bit limited, but service was excellent. Room service was quite prompt and accurate.

Room Tip: Pets and families stay on the garden level, but our room was quiet anyway.

The Allison Inn & Spa was simply outstanding. Upon arrival our bags were unloaded and delivered along with us to our rooms literally so quickly we didn't know what the lobby looked like. The bellmen were awesome, the valet's were speedy and you only had to give them your name the first time. Check in took all of 30 seconds, check out took about 45. The views and property are world class. The spa was good but may be the weak link in the resort. Jory was wonderful, had dinner and brunch. Rooms were spectacular, spring for the fourth floor with balcony if you can swing it. Just a great experience overall.

Room Tip: Fourth floor with balcony is worth the extra money.

The rates are high here for Oregon, but the Allison provides a higher level of service than most other places we have stayed in Oregon, where we have lived for 16 years. We celebrated our 20th anniversary and the staff could not have been more accommodating, starting with a celebratory bottle of wine and snacks when we arrived. It continued with excellent restaurant and lounge service, friendly valets and helpful concierge on nearby wine country recommendations. We also were upgraded on our room at no additional charge. The grounds are spacious and well kept, the trees and flowers are abundant and the hotel retains a sparkling new feel even though it's a few years old now. Highly recommended despite the high rates.

We just spent three days at the Allison, and while I did not take advantage of the spa, the rest of the inn is just wonderful! The rooms, the public spaces, restaurant and gardens are so well done and restful, you feel pampered even without the spa. The staff is polite and attentive without being annoyingly close. While it is pricey, it is worth it! It is the perfect place for exploring the Willamette Valley wine country.

Room Tip: All rooms are comfortable and quiet and have fireplaces and decks. You may want to ask for a room wi...

Green Features: This is an approved "green hotel." The only downside is that the lighting in the bathroom is low, although they do supply lighted make up mirrors.

My daughter and I stayed at The Allison and had an amazing time! The food was beyond delicious and we enjoyed a breakfast, lunch, and dinner there. We relaxed in the hot tub each evening, enjoyed their infinity pool, loved our pedicure, and the massage was outstanding and relaxing. The staff was wonderful. Each of them made us feel like we were the only ones at the resort, and it was fully booked most of the days were were there. The view from any direction we looked was breathtaking....simply gorgeous. We have never met friendlier and more helpful people! Not only were we welcomed by a host of young men when we left or returned to the resort, the receptionists were always welcoming, professional, and personable. Anna was most helpful in giving us ideas of what to do in the area, and Daniel and Emily were also helpful and accommodating. The Jory Restaurant was not only delicious, but the waiters were just as friendly as the reception area. Jeff, one of our waiters was knowledgeable and showed us that he loved his job by his joyful attitude and friendly nature. Overall....it was an amazing experience to stay at The Allison. I would HIGHLY recommend this resort. You will not be disappointed! We hope to return!

My family and I stayed at the Allison recently for one night and a fellow hotelier I can tell you I was thoroughly impressed. The staff is very friendly and on it. I felt like there were constantly eight people at the door to greet you. We had a deluxe room, and even that had an amazing soaking tub!! This is the only place to stay in Newberg, Or.

Only minor glitch was, and part of this was my fault, we showed up with our dog, and while I knew they were dog friendly and the staff did a great job getting us in a dog friendly room no one made us aware there was a charge. I happily paid it, but in the future better not to have surprises.

Thanks Allison- you guys are amazing!!
