“Wonderful option for romantic getaway to wine country”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 28, 2013

There's isn't much else of this caliber to choose from in the area, but it's still an incredible choice if you can afford it. Not cheap, but still worth it. Staff was fantastic - front desk, bellman, spa staff and restaurant staff. Room was gorgeous with a fireplace, tub for two and other great amenities. We had a wonderful view of the property and the vineyard behind. Easy to get to the wineries from this location and only about 45 minutes from Portland.

Room Tip: Loved the main level deluxe one king room because of the view and amenities.

We made our 1st trip to Willamette Valley with another couple at the beginning of May & found a great place to stay while doing our wine tours. It held its own when compared to the Carneros Inn in Napa or the Kiawah Island Gold Lodge which are both 5 star & we love. The rooms & grounds were very nice & the staff was excellent. We will be back!

The Inn was a great place to stay to visit the wine country. Very elegant, service was great and staff went out of their way to make the stay great. Housekeeping did a couple things that left me a little annoyed. One day they didn't clean one of our night stands and one day they didn't leave me bath salt for the very nice bathtub, other than that no other issues. Beds are luxurious, fireplace is a great touch and the view from our bedroom was beautiful. Restaurant is exceptional. Dan, the doorman provided us with great information and overall assistance.

Green Features: I like the new trend to the filtered bottle water where the hotel reuses glass bottles.

While visiting in the Willamette Valley, this is the place to relax and enjoy the comforts of excellence in lodging. The entire Inn is designed for your comfort. Service was friendly and staff was always willing to help. Exceedingly clean. Location is perfect for a visit to this area. From the car valets - thanks guys - to the desk staff to the others we encountered, courtesy and friendliness was paramount. The restaurant aptly receives accolades for its menu and service.

Allison Inn & Spa was the perfect retreat for our wine tasting weekend. The accommodations and service were top notch and the grounds are beautiful and well kept. Before we got started on our day, we took advantage of the exercise and steam rooms. Unfortunately, there was no time for spa services but will definitely make it a priority next time we visit.

My husband and I went to the Allison for our 17th anniversary. From reservations, to the spa, to the front desk, the service was of a quality rarely seen in Oregon. Clearly the staff had been professionally trained similar to what we have seen at 5 star hotels in large cities. The property was also spotless and beautiful, we appreciated the complimentary in-room local Oregon snacks and delicious complimentary morning coffee in the lobby (by local Portland roasters Water Avenue). We did a 1 hour couples massage in the spa that was also excellent. Would definitely recommend for a special weekend!

Green Features: Appreciated the filtered water in the in-room refridgerator.

My review could be as short as one word: wow! I was blown away by the Allison Inn during a two-night visit in early May. I have stayed in nice hotels before, but I think this place blows the competition away. I have definitely found my new northwest getaway.

The Inn is tucked away in wine country, removed from other buildings in a serene, lushly landscaped setting. Even the basic rooms are giant, with private balconies (complete with table and chairs) and designed in such a way that it's hard to see your neighbors unless you crane your neck. Just shows that they anticipated the little things. Sometimes it seems like even space planning is an afterthought in hotels.

The onsite restaurant, Jory, is delicious. We ate all but one meal there and had no complaints. We overindulged, but you could eat more sensibly if you wished. The waiter in the bar on our first night told us some of his favorite wineries and he was so convincing we didn't even stop at the concierge desk for advice. That is beyond stellar service.

The rooms still feel new, and the little touches like complimentary snacks are very thoughtful and set this place above the competition.

The Allison Inn is the definition of getting what you pay for. Sometimes (most times), pricey hotels are a rip-off, but in this case it's well worth it. I can't wait to come back!
