The best place I have ever stayed...ever. The service, rooms, restaurant, beautiful ground, and spa all exceeded my expectations. Wonderful place. The spa has been rated top spa in the country for good reason -- absolutely wonderful. What a place to be pampered!

You have to get to this hotel at least once in your lifetime. We loved every minute!! The staff is exceptional here, and makes you feel so comfortable and welcome. The rooms are simply beautiful and very tastefully decorated. The grounds are gorgeous, and well manicured. The artwork throughout the hotel is incredible. There is a fire pit on the patio in the evening, and our dinner was delightful. You truly feel like you are a world away from everything during your stay. We visited a couple wineries close by, but that was about all. You just hate to leave this hotel once you check in. The Allison Inn is a great find, and a class act. Our stay was very special!!

Allison is a beautiful, rather new resort with spacious rooms/decks and a terrific on-site spa. Being in the middle of the Oregon wine region, there's lots to vist (even for folks like us from CA wine region!). Staff is outstanding - never a wait at the front desk or for any other service. Views from all rooms and public areas are stupendous. Jory, the restaurant, doesn't quite meet the mark for a top resort - despite repeated requests to hostess and management, we were unable to reserve a specific or even a "nice" table for our 55th Anniversary/husband's birthday celebration - had to take a very mediocre spot. Hostess was very nice but repeated that this restaurant just doesn't reserve (why not? other top ones do and so do medium priced ones!). Food, for the price, was good but not stellar - couple of pleasant optios in Newburg and nearby (and with better attitude....)

Room Tip: check with hotel before deciding - those facing valley seem more preferred but a bit noisy, back is...

OnlineConcierge, Online Concierge for The Allison Inn & Spa at Allison Inn & Spa, responded to this review, December 10, 2012
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and kind words about our inn. I wanted to apologize about your experience at JORY, as it is not appropriate for us not to be able to handle a simple request for an anniversary (and happy, *wonderful* belated anniversary! Congratulations!) At the time of your visit, our management had created a few issues that led to operational mistakes such as the one you experienced. Needless to say, when we originally read your review, we immediately set out to correct management's mistakes, and believe they have been resolved, both with new training, and new, more experienced floor management. We truly apologize for the gaps in your experience, but for the next anniversary aim to impress, and make it up to you. Thank you for alerting us, and we hope this finds you well. Cheers, and happy belated anniversary once again!

Sincerely,
Michael | Online Concierge

This is an incredibly lovely spot to stay in which to sample Oregon's Williamette Valley wine country. Not only are the inn, restaurant, grounds and such beautiful and well-maintained, but the entire staff is so helpful, positive and friendly. Not having visited the area before, I sent a general "what wineries to try and where to eat" email to the Concierge. I received back a detailed list of suggestions, which was followed by her making appointments for a couple private wine tastings and leaving detailed directions to each in our room at arrival. A picnic lunch was assembled for us to enjoy at a local vineyard...yum!!! I didn't have the opportunity to try the spa but will be sure to do so next time! My husband and I are already discussing our next trip to the Allison! Stayed in a king penthouse suite; it was huge with a separate living area and high-end bathroom. Ah,luxury...

We were craving luxury and we got it at the Allison Inn and Spa. The spa was great and the Jory Restaurant food was also quite good. The location seems central to what we did (nothing wine related, oddly enough) like the Evergreen Aviation Museum, Deepwood Estate, Bush House and tour of the Salem capitol. Everyone was extremely pleasant.

The Allison is the place to stay if you are looking for a classy place to relax, be pampered and feel totally at home while visiting the Willamette valley. Our stay was 4 days long and each was filled with excitement and the pleasure of knowing that after our golf oe wine tours we were coming back to the Allison for fine food, wine and a spa treatment. Highly recommend this as a place to stay.

Room Tip: All rooms appear to be great rooms.

Our group of ten was thrilled with our first experience at The Allison. We stayed there six nights in late August during our second trip to the Oregon wine country. It sits in the midst of beautiful rolling hills that a perfect for a morning walk to start off your day though they also have an on property walking path. The Jory restaurant (patio if weather permits) is a must do but also treat yourself to a Chef's Table with wine pairing menu if you can. It exceeded our expectations. One of the wonderful benefits of staying at The Allison is that there are so many places (pools, gardens, fireplaces, bars, patios....) to just sit and relax on property-both indoors and outdoors. Everyone on staff is extremely friendly and helpful with all questions and requests. The rooms are very quiet and peaceful. They even include a check in snack basket and eco friendly water bottle to refill in your room. The spa services were top notch also.

Room Tip: garden view; upper floor;
