We had a wonderful weekend with old friends and new. Never stayed in a yurt before, and it was such fun. We joined a group of folks who do this annually, and we are trying to plan our own event now.
The park is clean, the hosts are friendly and helpful. Our group had use of the common area (which rents for $50 a day, I believe), and that was a huge bonus. A large open room with sink, counters for food prep, and we were able to set up our own camp stoves for cooking. The bathrooms and showers were spotless and well stocked with never ending hot water in the showers! Quite a luxury when "camping".
The yurts are large, with attached decks with picnic tables. If we hadn't had the common building, we could have grilled at the yurt and been completely comfortable.
The beach access is wonderful. What a beautiful location. This is a great spot to bring a group - but plan well (months) ahead, as the spots fill quickly (like other state parks) as soon as the season opens.
We were there as a couple, but the rest of our were all families with kids ranging from very young, to teens. There is something for everyone here!
