Feels homey!

Review of Spoke'n Hostel
5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Apr 13, 2017
I was welcomed in by Jalet and Pat after a rainy bike ride from Prineville. The homemade beds made from gorgeous blue pine and the 100% grandma made quilts and rugs made for an excellent homey feel! They were happy to host me for 2 days as some thunderstorms loomed overhead! I was the only person in the hostel due to the early time of the year for bicycle tourists, but the common areas are well furnished and offer many board games to play. The shower is hot, the beds are comfy and the hospitality was wonderful!
Date of stay: April 2017
Room Tip: There are 2 private rooms, that you could talk to Jalet and Pat about if you don't want to...

Spending time at Spoke'n is like going home. You are family after walking through the door. This place has endless charm and is perfect for an adventure trip or retreat. A short drive to the painted hills and placed in the sweetest small town you want to be sure to stay at Spoke'n. This is an award winning stay for hospitality! The only complaint is I couldn't stay longer.

I stayed at this hostel for four days when it was still being established. I was on a roadtrip with a couple of friends and it was really late when we arrived. Our hosts Pat and Jalet, warmly welcomed us in and provided for our needs. They foster an amazing environment that is unlike other hostels or B&Bs that I have stayed. I didn't feel like a guest, I felt like family. I also appreciated that we had privacy when we wanted it, but when we felt like socializing, Jalet was there with hilarious stories and unending cups of tea. Should you find yourself in need of rest whilst cycling or adventuring the high desert of Eastern Oregon, Spoke'n Hostel will be a home away from home.

Spoke'n Hostel was an unexpected stop on our 7 day bikepacking journey, and was one of the highest points of the trip. Jalet and Pat (and Lilly!) run this oasis, and have created the most welcoming environment that is just overflowing with generosity. The Hostel not only gives cyclists and other adventurers the perfect place to relax and recharge, but has created a place where the community can now come together to support each other and grow. This establishment feels more like a second home than a hostel. You need to make Spoke'n Hostel a stop on your next adventure, even just swing by if you're passing through. This is a special place.

We stayed at Spoke n' Hostel over New Years weekend. Pat and Jalet are amazing hosts. They know the area around Mitchell well and are extremely helpful. Anything you need....they've got you covered!

The hostel is homey and inviting, and the beds are comfy! Highly recommended.
