“Afternoon lunch on a rainy day”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2014

We went to the Rice Thai Cookery on a Saturday afternoon. There was no one in the restaurant when we went in. We were seated by the door, which was pretty cold and got worse when they propped the door open to bring in supplies. Wasn't long, but still a bit cold. Food wasn't bad, but it was pricey. Servings are a decent size, and the rice was shaped in a flower. We were able to make substitutions on a specific dish, and there was no extra cost. All in all, the food was good, service was good, just a bit pricey for a family of 4, 2 of whom are picky. May or may not return, but if I don't return it wouldn't be due to not liking the food.

“Good but pricey even on "deals of the day"”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

Went with my wife 2 days ago, the food was ok, it was very cold inside, someone left the side door open... waitress was nice, it seems it was the end of the shift (about 3 pm) because she did everything, even the cooking... plates were at $15 for me $12 for my wife and tea for $3. Probably on a better time it would have been more comfortable... I've been there 2 other times but didn't pay attention at all... water was served in a can jar... funny!

“Very close to home”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 3, 2013

Considering that I live, no lie, above this restaurant
it is a easy trip on the spur of the moment. The lamb massaman curry and the pad thai were very good. The prices are reasonable and the service was good.

“Tex-Thai?”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 25, 2013

I had to walk back out of the place to make sure it said Rice Thai Cookery on the front door. It looks like a BBQ restaurant inside. Plaid table cloths, old-timey Coke paraphernalia on the walls, old phones displayed, etc. I will say, the coconut prawns were superb - but that's as far as it went. My "special peanut sauce" stir fry was not stir fry at all. It was boiled chicken, steamed veggies with peanut sauce poured over the top. My wife ordered pad thai - a staple of thai food - and it had zero flavor! She had to put the dried spices on it just to taste something.

“Good Thai food for downtown Milwaukie.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 5, 2012 via mobile

Always good service. Fresh food and crunchy grass hoppers for the adventurous. In the past they have suggested house specials that weren't on menu and ended up being very tasty!
