“Back again to Double Tree”
Reviewed July 23, 2012

We just got back again from another wonderful vacation at Double Tree Ranch. This time we stayed in the smaller Shetland cabin. This is a great cabin for smaller groups. We had 4 adults and 3 kids. We also used the nice large tent next door. The kids loved staying in there. We spent most of our time at both the rouge river and Jump off Joe creek. The kids had a blast playing in both. We also spent the early morning's walking down to the fishing hole and picking black berries with our coffee. Can't wait to go back, we already are planning the next time down there. Thanks again Rick and Carol.

Room Tip: All cabins are great. If you have a big group either get the Summer or Cedar house.

The owners, Rick and Carole, are some of the most amazing people we have ever met. They truly treated our family of five (and our elderly dog) like family. Carole even babysat our dog for us while we went on an excursion (a Rogue Wilderness Adventures rafting trip, also amazing and highly recommended).

Our children absolutely loved their stay and the special tours and ranch life demonstrations that the owners gave us. The cabin accommodations were excellent and spotless!! A wonderful peaceful getaway and such a great value. We look forward to coming again as a regular trip. Rick and Carole, thank you for such wonderful memories.

The property sits on the original 150 acres of Homestead land that has been in their family for generations and it feels like nothing has changed. The grounds are natural and stunning and have not been over designed. The property is taken care of meticulously, where the mules and horses, as well as historic buildings create a dream like setting to loose yourself and forget your life. There is a mile of Rogue River at the base of the cabins. The cabins are well provided for and super clean. We had an outdoor orchard where we sat our and ate dinner. You will not hear cars or barely see people come and go, it feels like you have 150 acres to yourself.

The hosts went out of their way to take care of my family, including 2 little girls and a dog. Rick set up hikes for us and delivered us to a creek for a great day. He even arranged a mountain bike ride for my husband, which was amazing for him.

We will go back for sure.

I'm that guy who when I get away wants to be a hermit, to be left alone to relax and never hang out where I'm sleeping. Well, staying with Rick and Carol at The Double Tree Ranch has blown my standard operating procedure for the first time in my life at 50! I found myself just hanging out there at the ranch and visiting with several other guests and even seeking the owners out for conversation. We extended out stay by two nights because the place is so quiet and easy. This lady stay was my second time staying at Rick and Carols place. I'll be back this fall for fishing or next spring to relax or both. Go experience The Pure Life in the woods in The Rogue River at The Double Tree Ranch!

We loved our brief time we spent at the DoubleTree Ranch. As everyone has already mentioned, Rick was the perfect host and made us feel so welcomed and at home there. The views into the trees and down into the meadow were so beautiful and we loved our walk down to the river. We hope to return for a longer stay sometime to allow Rick to take us on a hike up into the hills above the cabins. We really enjoyed hiking the North Bank of the Rogue River Trail from Graves Creek as it meandered above the Rogue where you could watched the rafters go by and see the rapids as they navagated them from above.....it was A+++ and we highy recommend it!

Room Tip: We loved the Stillwater Cabin...perfect for 2 or even 4 close people. The view of the river is reall...

The ranch is located on a great stretch of the Rogue where steelies and trout run. The facilities and trails are well-maintained, very safe, and accessible- especially for the price. Rick and Carol are very hospitable and accommodating- whether it was a guided hike, quick tour of the creeks, or friendly 'good morning," they immediately made us feel at home. When we left something behind, Rick mailed it to me the next day. Rick did a great job of making all the guests feel like a community even though we were meeting for the first time. Suffice it to say, this is now an annual destination for my family and I...not just for the outdoor experience but also to see our new friends, Rick and Carol. The Ponte family is great!

The Doubletree Ranch is an off the beaten path gem. It's quiet cozy cabins (fully furnished) overlook a huge beautiful meadow and the Rogue River. Dogs are welcome, and the walking paths are lined with blackberries. My family had a wonderful time and we will be going back every summer. Bring your kids, your dog, your raft and your fishing poles. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Room Tip: My favorite cabin is Summer House.
