The Rogue River USFS and BLM regional staff are always helpful and enthusiastic about their work and the resources available through their office.Its a quick stop that can reveal off the beaten path adventures for both visitors and locals in Southern Oregon.
The river is as clean as a river can get, the whole river was clean and just plain beautiful. Rafting, jet boats, just playing in the water at the appropriate places are just amazing!

If you go out to Shady Cove there are some great inexpensive options for floating down the river with a group of friends. If you go out to Grants Pass or Gold Hill you definitely want a guide and possibly a helmet. Depending on the time of year the water can be very high and freezing. You'll want to have a 4 person raft minimum for any of the sections of the river and be ready for some beautiful views with lots of nature.
We recently traveled to Medford to white water raft with Rogue River Outfitters, Craig and Tina Hughson. 22 people (12 kids and 10 adults)! Craig and his crew, Johnny, Joey, Harry and Cliff were not only experienced guides but friendly, helpful and easy going. The equipment was new and clean. The tents, sleeping bags and locations that they selected for our group were secluded and beautiful. Craig's wife, Tina created an amazing menu for us for lunch and dinners every day. We HIGHLY recommend and would consider going back for another trip! Such an incredible experience for myself, my husband and our two boys. THANKS Craig and Tina!
You can't really go wrong. It doesn't matter where you visit along the Rogue River...you will be sure to find abundant wildlife and greenery. Destination on its own.
