This hotel is clean, rooms come with full kitchen, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The beds are really soft (fluffy, not saggy) so it might not be good for someone who likes a firmer bed, but it was fine for me. Often in small towns the choices are not that great, but this hotel is just as good as one you would find in an urban area.

On a ten-day trek through the breath-taking area, the Homewood Suites, hands down, was the best hotel. Trip Advisor is our constant guide when traveling, but I had a hard time believing any property could be as good as everyone said, but it is. The staff is attentive, the room exceeds in all ways, and the breakfast was better than any I can remember at any hotel. Congratulations to the management and staff. If you are looking for a place to stay in Medford, this is it. I just wish we had been there longer than one night.

We spent two night at Homewood Suites while in town for a conference held at another hotel that was not as highly rated as this. After reading the rave reviews, I decided to try a chain new to me. Wow! What a pleasure it was to stay here!

This is a smallish mid-rise hotel that resemples a condo property more than it does a hotel. Upon check in, pleasant staff greet you and check you in with a no fuss no muss manner. Staff here are understated, clearly here if you need them, but not hovering or over zealous and insincere. They are friendly, efficient and welcoming.

Passing thru the lobby gave us an idea about how lovely our room would be. Lobby decor is quite nice, cozy, and bright with very comfortable furniture and a fireplace to enjoy. The dining area is adjacent to the lobby, and the decor again is pleasant and comfortable.

We booked a studio suite, but I do believe there are suites with bedrooms as well. For the two of us and our little dog, a suite was all we needed. The suite was better than I hoped for with a gorgeous well laid out small kitchenette with laminate wood floors, complete with a standard size refrigerator, a two burner electric stove, convection microwave oven, dishwasher, small dining table and near full sized sink. The cherry wood cabinets are stocked with dishes, glasses, mugs, pots and pans and pretty much anything one needs. Coffee, hot chocolate, tea and microwave popcorn are on the counter. If one travels often and for a long stay, or with a family, this kitchen is ideal.

The living area has a very comfortable full sized couch, an ottoman, a large chair, a desk, and a flat screen tv. The room is very bright with large windows and very pretty window treatments. The colors and furniture are quite modern and bright, walls are painted with well chosen colors. It feels like a well appointed condominium.

The bed has a fantastic comforter that compliments the rest of the decor. And, it is a super comfortable bed with numerous pillows. The bathroom is large, with nice countertops and fixtures as well as mirrored closet doors. The shower is walk in, and quite large.

The studio suites are extremely well laid out, well lit, and feel extremely spacious. I can easily imagine a long stay in this condo-feeling suite.

Breakfast is a real treat, too, and is included in the rate. Used to the usual "continental breakfast" of hard boiled eggs, dry cereal and waxy apples, the breakfasts here are fabulous! Day one we enjoyed veggie scrambled eggs (very, very good!), sausage, french toast, oatmeal, pineapple and melon. Day two included cheese omlettes, pancakes, bacon and fresh sliced fruit. There are plenty of pastries, bagels, cereals, yogurt and more available. Pleasant staff closely monitor the serving area, making sure it is always clean and well stocked. Food is fresh and presented very nicely. There are several varieties of coffee and tea, as well as at least three choices of juice. (Note: Please remember to leave a tip for these excellent hotel employees!)

For those who stay during the week, a "light dinner" is served, again, included in the rate. The menu I saw included ravioli one evening, and always includes soup. I suspect it is as good as the breakfast, which would mean it is GOOD. For those who do not want to cook in their room and hassle with shopping and cleanup, and those who do not wish to venture out to find a good restaurant, I imagine the casual light dinner provided is a welcome change of pace. Unfortunately, we were here on a weekend and did not get to sample the complimentary meal.

Barbeques are available in the courtyard, but weather did not permit outdoor cooking. There is a fitness center, and indoor pool and a computer room. I was so excited to write this review and give kudos to this hotel, I am using the computer room here at the property to do so.

All in all, our short stay was better than great. I felt right at home in my "private luxury studio condo" with convenient parking, and all the amenities of home. They allow dogs up to a certain size with a pet deposit, and that made the stay even better for us. Thank you Homewood! I am sold on this chain from now on. My only disclaimer is that the property is very new, which does give it an advantage of the older properties out there that appear "tired". Newness gives Homewood Suites an advantage, but certainly is not the entire reason it is so lovely.

This is a great place to stay, but would caution against putting anyone over the age of 5 on the sofabed. I brought a featherbed topper along and it was still a looong night. The lovely sitting room is not a good bedroom. The outside door is not sealed, so light and noise come in readily from the hall. On the good side, it has a full kitchen, fabulous king size bed and nice TV. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, but would make sure that everyone in the party had a real bed. The breakfast is above par and the breakfast room is warm and inviting.

The Homewood Suites in Medford has both one and two-bedroom suites. Colorful furniture and decorations liven up the small rooms, providing a homier ambiance than other cookie cutter hotels. The rooms all have mini kitchens including a large fridge, small cooktop, microwave and even a dishwasher. Bedding is plentiful and comfortable (they provide WAY too many pillows) and the rooms have alarm clocks that allow connection to your personal MP3 player or iPod.

Amenities include indoor pool, fitness room, basketball court, and free wifi. I've used all but the basketball court and they are of good quality. The pool is small and kept a bit on the warmer side plus there is a whirlpool. The exercise room is well equipped with both treadmills and elliptical machines, all of which have a personal TV. The wifi is fast enough, but might not be of sufficient quality for high-end business users.

The hotel serves dinner (including beer & wine) Monday thru Thursday. The food quality varies from just OK to terrible - but the beer & wine are free so it's worthwhile to stop by just to sample a local brew. The hot breakfast served daily is marginally better. Hot drinks are available 'round the clock and if you happen to pass through at the right time of day, they'll offer you a freshly-baked muffin.

The staff is generally friendly and always polite. They aren't always super responsive but get to customers in an acceptable amount of time. The property is "dog friendly" and there are "poo stations" conveniently located near the entrances (but not TOO near).

I really can't imagine staying anywhere else during my frequent trips to Medford - it's always a pleasure to return there. The hotel is located at the south end of Medford near Bear Creek Park and adjacent to the greenway (path system). It's an easy drive from there to Ashland and Jacksonville.
