The town of McMinnville, OR. is small, historic, & just not much happening. However, the surprising array of restaurants & bars are great. After checking in at the Hotel Oregon, we ventured out to walk this very small town to see what was happening. Much to our delight we came across La Rambla Restaurant & Bar. Assessing the menu, we decided we were definitely hungry & went into the restaurant. The hostess & waitress ("Nan") were so accommodating & friendly...we immediately felt comfortable. Beautifully decorated, romantic lighting, good music & the wine list terrific. Lots of local wines from the Williamete Valley plus many Spanish wines. They had quite an assortment of tapas (small plates) & we decided to order just a couple to sample. OMG!! Everything was so delicious & so fresh. The presentation was lovely as well. Great experience!

Over the past 2 years, my husband and I have visited La Rambla 4 times. Like any tapas place, you must order carefully to get a good grouping of dishes. The salumi and cheese plate is always different; the servers are good about identifying each meat and cheese. The seafood plates are always a hit - recently enjoyed stuffed mussels, seared scallops with polenta cakes, and in the past, the steamed clams or mussels with sauce or broth are perfectly prepared and delicious. Vegetables or salad are a must with each grouping (we do 3 at a time for the two of us) so things don't get too rich. Grilled cauliflower, sauteed spinach, beet salad, tempura green beans...the veggies change often so pick your favorite. The last proteins we enjoyed were the quail and the duck. The quail was a tad dry, but the sauce helped.
Service has always been excellent. Great wine list, but I usually stick to a glass of prosecco and my husband loves their cocktails.

Who expected to find a Spanish Tapas restaurant in a small town in Oregon? Well-it's here and it's excellent. I had the scallops and calamari and it was the best I have had in a long time. We also had a vegetarian in the group and her reviews were also "thumbs up"! One of the highlight meals of our 2 weeks in Oregon.

Great quality tapas, we had the cheese and jam toasty with truffle oil, the wild Oregon salmon, a succulent file with polenta and a couple of delicious wines, including a nice dry reisling called anam car an, 2011. Nice dark interior with good chilled sounds. Will go back!

Didn't expect to find tapas in such a small town, but there it was! Being from a big city, we were used to a more extensive selection. They almost has all the bases covered, but not quite. What they did have was all very good. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly and attentive. Great beer and wine selection. Check it out!
