Such a great air museum! So much to see. While we didn't do the water park, it looks absolutely fabulous!

“So much to see!”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

So, we came here expecting to spend an hour or so looking at planes and checking out the Spruce Goose...four hours later we finally dragged ourselves out of there to get on with the rest of our day. The Spruce Goose has an interesting story and is impressive in person, and the exhibits telling the story of its design, construction and ultimate rescue were well done. However, this museum also has a great collection of OTHER planes, including planes from the period of early commercial aviation to military planes from all eras. They are laid out in the hangar in such a way that you can get right up close to them.

We also enjoyed the "space" section of the museum. It has a good overview of the U.S.-Russia race to the moon and some interesting hands on exhibits.

Museum admission also comes with admission to an aviation-themed IMAX movie of your choice.

“Best Space Museum Yet”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

Seeing the Spruce Goose was an experience not to be missed. The museum does an excellent job of displaying both restored and replica planes. However the Space Museum is the best we have ever visited primarily because of the numerous docents who are very knowledgeable we have run into.

“Spruce Goose”

Fulfilling bucket list since I was very young 1960"s since first time I had seen documentary on Howard Hugh's and Spruce Goose. That and a piece of Berlin Wall. Freedom is always appreciated

“Aviation Buff? Not To Be Missed...”
Reviewed July 11, 2013

I grew up in LA during the heyday of the aerospace business...Space gear and planes were my thing...I saw The Spruce Goose two times in Long Beach...Now I had the opportunity to see the grand old dame one more time...We were visiting relatives outside Portland, OR and made tracks to the tiny burg of McMinnville, OR...Not a big place, but amazingly home to the coolest aviation and space museum I've seen outside of DC...Three huge buildings (hangers) sit in the distance from the two lane road and in front of them stands an Evergreen 747 sitting smack dab in the middle of a field...Right away you learn this place is like no other...Also a fourth building is at the far left of the property...On it's roof is a...ready for this...a 747 with water slides coming out of it's side...Yea, the place is a giant indoor water park...I can go on and on but you have to know that the Spruce Goose is the crown jewel here...I discovered you can have your pix taken in the same cockpit seat that Howard Hughes sat in when the giant plane flew one time back in '47...Shelled out the twenty-five bucks in a heartbeat and got to spend 15 minutes in the cockpit of the plane...The space museum is packed with all kinds of historical rockets, space capsules and more...DO NOT miss this place...Take the extra effort to head here...'Nuff said...
