“Good setup, needs more work”

Overall, it is a nice set of museums (two different buildings with displays) with a lot of great aircraft. But as others have alluded to, it feels like they aren't quite done setting up. We did not visit the water park, but it looked pretty neat with water slides out of a 747...

In the display buildings, some aircraft (SR-71, Spruce Goose) have a lot of information while others barely even have a card to name them or their time period. Some of the aircraft around the Spruce Goose seem jumbled together to fill up space.

Lucky for us, it was 'free' to go as we had a membership with a different museum in our home state and both are part of the museum ASTC passport program. It would be really really hard to justify spending ~$100 for a family of four....

“If it were not for the maddeningly missing displays...”

... I would gladly give it five points. How in the world did the staff neglect to put informational signs in front of so many interesting planes and museum exhibits? No sign in front of the
"Spirit of St. Louis", or below the most advanced drone ever built, and many, many other attractions. I don't want to buy the book in the museum shop, just because someone dropped the ball in the hall. At an admission price of more than $20, the lack of information about many of these rare pieces collected from all over the world is inexcusable.

The Spruce Goose, I always thought, would be THE attraction at the museum's two gigantic exhibition hangars for me. Not so. The Goose is so overwhelmingly huge that it almost does not register, because it is so out of scale. What does immediately register: the more than one hundred planes, drones, fighter jets, stealth bombers, space capsules, intercontinental ballistic missiles (yes, full size!) dozens of aircraft and rocket engines, and the odd Russian side-car motorcycle, armored vehicle and rusty tank.

This is clearly too much stuff to digest in one day. I'd split the two hangars into two visits. The museum's gem for me was the second hall, with its mighty military machinery: many a billion dollars were spent on all these planes and space craft in their time.

Oh, and don't forget to ask any of the veteran volunteer tour guides. They know so much about every plane and exhibit, and share enthusiastically and passionately (including their frustration about the museum's poor signage!)

“A nice way to spend an afternoon.”

HUGE place! It was fun to look at all the planes, engines and space equipment. Two huge places and there is a movie place plus a waterpark. We only went to the 2 museums. There are people to answer questions and tell you some information about what you are looking at. There is a place for kids to play, a floor with some old guns. Bring the kids, there are little stations around there that show short info movies.
The Spruce Goose is HUGE! I would go just to see that.

“To each his or her own”

I'm new to Oregon and was intrigued by Evergreen with the plan on their roof. When the opportunity came to go for free, I jumped at it. Free was a good price. I liked seeing the Spruce Goose and Ford tri motor (my mom went up in one). Beyond that, well, nothing spoke to me. Someone who loves planes will feel right at home.

“Great surprise”

Amazing. We had seen the Spruce Goose years ago while in Long BeachCa. So nice to see it in it's new home.
But the jewel of this museum is the extensive collection of vintage aircraft along with incredible volunteers. I spoke with men that have flown or worked on planes during war times. The Amazing stories and knowledge they share is priceless. If in the area this is not to be missed.
