We thought this place was quite a find. We spent 1 night in rv spot 17. The spots are close, but not cramped, and we could sit looking out at the river. Soaking in the pool by moonlight was a wonderful experience after our grueling hike that day, and the gardens reminded us of an old s chateau grounds in Belgium. Great fun to explore. The river is beautiful, and it was only about 100 yards from our campsite to the Mackenzie river trail, that runs along it for miles. The showers/restrooms were clean, although it was awkward not to have a place to change by the shower. We are very glad we didn't let the bad reviews chase us off. It was a unique, lovely stop on our 10 day odyssey. By the way, they are putting in some really cool tent spots on the river near the gardens. You would have to pack in, but it would be worth it (and still just 5 minutes to walk to pool)

Room Tip: I think any of the perimeter spots would be fairly scenic

It was a nice stay except for a few things; the check in lady was fighting with a guest in the lobby and the guest stormed out of the room, and probably left. The next time was when I asked her a question and she answered," ha, what do you think? " don't know maybe? " ha no! "
I did not like that at all. and her excuse to her actions was it had been a long day.
There was a bee's nest and a little girl got stung, and someone came to deal with the nest and it was the same person that goes on the bridge like every 2 hours and looks for wasp nests/ That's good. the gardens are wonderful and has beautiful water decoration. the camp sites are nice and private, very buggy, and semi hard to access when un packing and packing. But, in my opinion, it is all worth it for the pool and mostly all of the gardens. Meant of everyone!

Six of us rode our bikes over the Aufderheidie from Oakridge/Westfir (70 miles) and spent 2 nights at the Lodge. After reading some of the reviews I was a little worried about staying here, boy was I wrong. A beautiful older lodge in an incredible setting along the river. Our rooms overlooked the hot springs pool, gardens and the river. The first night we had dinner at the food cart along the river, ok food, but the setting was beautiful. The gardens were outstanding, they are worth the trip there. Walked around the camping and cabin areas, and checked out the upper pool, everything was very neat and tidy.
Management (Marleen) let us store our bikes in a large room off of the lobby so we didn't have to take them to our rooms. That was just the beginning of the great service. The nearest restaurant was 10 miles away, Marleen loaded us up in her car and drove us to dinner!
We planned an early departure, and figured we could get coffee and breakfast at a gas station down the road. Marleen got up early, made coffee and set up the continental breakfast just for us.
A very special lady.

Room Tip: Room 12, second floor, was large with a king size bed and picture window looking over the gardens, p...

I would never spend the night again. The staff is moderately helpful, but pretty rude about it. You would think that being a destination spa would make them appreciate the patronage.
The mineral water is definitely healing. The Secret Garden, recently uncovered from the forest overgrowth, built around the 1915, was increadibly amazing.
Go for the afternoon/eve and enjoy your surrounding. Just try to stay away from the staff!

Lodge is dated, so if you like funky, this is it. Opted for a day trip and a few bobs in the pool, if you are used to super sulphuric healing springs, this is not the place. Nor was it restful with kids splashing around in a relatively small and shallow pool area. I think this would be more appreciated in the winter with snow covering the trees and the children snug in their beds. The gardens were small but colorful and frame the river view. Downside is their restaurant is open only to overnight guests, so pack a lunch or leave hungry. The mobile snack bar outside that was available was beyond questionable and only for the stout of heart and stomach. Bring your handy wipes and Alka Seltzer, you will probably need them.

After going to Belknap Hotsprings so many years that was my last trip ever going there. Marlene the manger was RUDE, RUDE, RUDE! she yells at her costumers, calls them a lair and and wont even let them speak, also she smiles while shes doing all of that. I booked tent spots for two nights a couple months before our trip over the phone and i was speaking to sandy an employee that works at the front desk when i got there after a two hour drive they said it was impossible to get those spots because i needed an RV just to put any amount of tents there because they were RV spots and that was not told to me over the phone so when i got there they put me across the river on the farthest spots from everything and the spots weren't even ready, because they were the most very new spots. i reserved two of the new spots that day i stayed in one of the spots and i was waiting for another one of my friends to come the next day and when i woke up that morning i found that my spot was given to another family even tho i payed for both those spots. i talk to that family latter on that day and they said the also payed for this spot. i booked only for two nights they charged me for three. if u r ever gonna go there be careful!also the manger at the front desk was making me write a note that i had a good stay. !

Really enjoyed our two night stay here. We soaked in the large, 104 degree pool. What luxury! I've never been able to actually swim in such warm water before. The gardens are beautiful. Take time to go across the bridge and hunt for the secret garden. No signs. Worth it. We went white water rafting with the group based there. Wonderful. A couple of things to note. Food choices are limited at the resort. If you drive a few miles, you can get to a decent restaurant. Also, you will be cut off by those magnificent canyon walls from good cell service, and this place doesn't have wi-fi. They don't even get regular mail deliveries! Tell people you are unplugging for a while and then just relax.

Room Tip: Go white water rafting on the beautiful McKenzie River!
