What a cute little hotel that's been completely remodelled by the owners. You will find yourself in a super clean room with wifi, a flat screen TV, a very comfy bed, soft sheets and amazing shower pressure. The inn keepers are so nice and really care about their guest's comfort; they have also put together a complete guide for the town which you will find in your room. When you come into town you'll see the other two fancier looking hotels but drive up the hill to this place and you'll definitely be glad that you did.

We stayed one night prior to a river fishing trip. Room was very clean, large and comfortable. Owners/managers very friendly and accommodating with cocktail ice and sundries left at home.
We arrived at night and left before dawn so it's hard to judge appearances but I would say it appeared an attractive motel. Would definitely stay here again under like circumstances.

Room Tip: Its on the roiad, so being as far from the road may be desired if you like to sleep in.

The Deschutes Motel is a family and dog friendly place. The rooms are clean with a flat screen TV, nice size fridge and WiFi. The owners are very friendly and went out of their way to ensure our visit was exceptional. Would definately recommend to my friends and family. I will be returning. Thank You.

Room Tip: We stayed in Buckskin Mary, which was a 2 room family suite.

I used trip advisor advice and decided to stay here the evening before our rafting trip. As promised is it clean, updated, quiet spot. The staff were super friendly. The two small buildings have a grassy area for guests between. The room has all you would want except an easy chair, but the table and chairs were handy. No blow drier, but who needs it when rafting! To get to the center of town it is a bit of a trip so not within a short walk so there is not a cafe close. I would highly recommend this as an affordable, safe, clean, friendly place to stay.

Room Tip: I stayed in lower elevator (they are all named after rapids). Middle room in second building.

My mother, aunt cousin and myself booked a white water rafting trip and book our stay at the Deschutes Motel. I would HIGHLY recommend staying there if you're traveling through Maupin. The owners were amazing, the room names are funny (all named after rapids from the Deschutes river), all neighbors seemed so relaxed and happy with their stay. On our last night there, we had chairs gathered by our room door, visiting neighbors joined and one even played guitar and sang for us. Was not too excited to leave the Deschutes motel. I will stay with them again!!!

Room Tip: All rooms were just remodeled, it would not matter which one you stayed in.

We stayed at the Deschutes Motel which sits just on hill just above Maupin proper. The proprietors are nice folks - very friendly. the room we had (family suite) was comfortable and fit our needs well. I liked the emphasis on recycling too. The beds were comfortable and the grounds were nicely kept. There could be some hooks in the bathrooms for the towels to dry but that is a minor thing. all in all it was a great place to stay.

We fished the Deschutes for 3 days and it was great to come back to a very comfortable and relaxing room. Dave and Dawna have made excellent changes to the motel all the way down to the homey comforters on the bed to Folgers in the morning. There is also nice flat screen TVs to enjoy after your day on the water or a long day of traveling. The prices are also reasonable compared to the other places in town. Dave and Dawna are very friendly and I enjoyed my visits with them. Looking forward to our next stay. Rose W & Dave C.
