“A quaint, quiet ,peaceful great place to stay!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2009

We found this quaint, quiet peaceful little inn in a wonderfully friendly, little, out-of-the-way quiet town, with a BEAUTIFUL beach within walking distance! The shop owners were friendly, all the restraunt owners were friendly and the other tourists were friendly! This is THE place to go if you want to relax and take breath-taking pictures of the Pacific Ocean!! We LOVED Manzanita and the Spindrift Inn!! We will definitely be travelling there again!!

Room - tiny. Be advised to bring your own soap since they give you 1 tiny ration of soap.

Cost - Way expensive for what you get. Coastal motels like this take advantage of the summer and location to the beach and we had no choice at the time - last min. reservation.

Problem: We had reservations Thursday and Friday night. Their policy is checkout is 11am. I phoned Thursday and talked to "Karena" (sp?) and was told that extending it to 12 noon would be ok but couldn't do it more than that. I say "Thank you very much" as we had a race on Sat. am on the beach.

We paid for 2 nights even though our actual check in was Friday early afternoon. With my wife standing right next to me I mentioned to the girl behind the counter, "Sarah", that I had talked to someone the previous day about a checkout no later than noon on Sat. She said "oh that's fine then".

At 11am on Sat. we had housekeeping banging on the rear door demanding checkout was 11. On the front door we had "Karena" banging and demanding we check out NOW! I just got out of the shower, dressed, and went to the front office and "Karena" pretended to know nothing. She eventually admitted we talked on Thursday and she said there was a note in their computer to that I had made the request - but she really didn't approve it! Lie # 2.

Meanwhile, Sarah, the girl that actually checked us in just stood their neither confirming or denying anything.

If you make a verbal change to anything make sure you get it in writing - these people are NOT to be trusted!

Also, when you check out a free DVD they make you sign a paper saying you must pay for the disk if they don't receive it back. After all the above and upon handing in my keys I said to "Karena" that I wanted to see that page to verify it was returned.

She said "Oh we checked it off" and I said noway, I didn't trust her and her word was meaningless and I wanted to see the page. There was a thin pencil line through the DVD number - like one that could be easily erased. I wrote on it in pen RETURNED.

We will never return to this place!

We loved our 4 night stay at the Spindrift Inn. It is very clean and we felt right at home. Manzanita is a beautiful little town and we enjoyed every second of our vacation there. I would definitely stay at the Spindrift Inn again. What a great find!

We just stayed over the Memorial Day Weekend for 2 nights, 3 days. We were welcomed, given a a great room #5, parking was right outside our door, the room was great, 2 queen beds, very nice beds, best sleep I have had in a long time, the bathrooms were just fine, plenty of towels, we had a microwave, fridge, small coffee maker, tv with dvd, movies to rent from owner library, free ice for our cooler, and a block away from the beach! It was the coziest, cutest little inn.
The owner Corinna is a dear and made my little mini vacation very pleasant. There have been many complaints about the carpet, but who cares if the carpet was old, it's not the 5 star hotel. It's perfect for single, family, or group, the little courtyard in the center is darling. Also they had wifi, which was really nice to find things along the coast. Great Value and would go again!

We stayed here with our 1 year old son and were a little disappointed, the carpet was really dirty and our son was just learning to walk and was on the floor a bit and the knees of his pants got dirty immediately. gross. the bathroom was in need of some repair, and wasn't the cleanest. the walls are paper thin as well....
the location is right on the main street (Laneda) which makes it convenient to everything, including the beach.

The Spindrift Inn is a great value for couples and families travelling to Manzanita Beach. It is located only a block from the beach, shares a building with a Mexican restaurant, and is centrally located to Manzanita's shopping district. The room with kitchenette is a great value because it has everything you need to stay in a fix your own meals (which saves quite a bit of money). The spacious bathroom features a shower and ample hooks for drying towels, not cramped like most hotel bathrooms. The bedroom was seperate from the kitchen/living room which was a blessing for our different sleep schedules. The mattress was very high, and very firm but comfortable. The living room/kitchen featured a futon (that was surprisingly comfortable), coffee table, tv and dvd player. One of the nice amenities about the hotel is that you can borrow DVDs from the office, a plus on a rainy day and their selection is quite broad. The only downside was that the bedroom door would not completely close, but otherwise this was a great find on the Oregon coast.

A couple of notes for those unfamiliar with the Oregon Coast: you are not going to find a plethora of 4 and 5 star hotels, so keep a realistic perspective when reading reviews for other hotels. Also, Manzanita is a VERY dog friendly town, so if you are not an animal lover, this is not the beach for you.

I booked a 3-night stay at this motel so I could finish work on my novel (and told them so when booking the room). When I checked in, the room they gave me was tiny, and there wasn't a table or chair. There was just enough room for the bed. Since I needed to spread out, I asked if they had something larger -- which cost an extra $200 for the whole stay.

The room was on a corner and had lots of light. The couch was a futon folded up, which I alternately found very comfortable, or murder on my back. The bed was comfortable. The walls are super thin, and I could hear the couple next door going at it in bed -- more than once. In the middle of the afternoon. (good for them, but it was awkward to have to hear it). Everything in the kitchenette & bathroom was in decent working order. The location is great -- only a couple blocks from the ocean.

My two biggest complaints (other than the free porn from next door): 1) there was a weird moldy/sweet smell in the room; 2) It didn't feel very secure. The last night I was there several men were always standing around talking, yelling, smoking, drinking, etc. outside. The first few nights I was there I felt safe, but the last night I actually jammed a chair under the doorknob. And there are 2 doors that lead outside, and one is your bathroom.

It's not really up to par with the prices they're charging, but there are very few options in Manzanita, an otherwise great town.
