“Really disappointed!”
Reviewed October 23, 2011

I had read a review about the new owners in the local paper and was really looking forward to a special meal but in the end was really disappointed. One of our wine glasses came with lipstick on it and when it was replaced it came back with half a glass of wine. The wrong salad dressing came with one of the salads. The french fries tasted like seafood. The burger that one person ordered was dry. My steak was flavorless. And the final straw was when I saw the waitress ( the owner) bring out my slice of bread on a plate that also included a slice of bread that she took off and served to another table. I kick myself for not saying something while we were there - they did look like they were trying really hard.

“Very,very BAD!!!”
Reviewed September 25, 2011

Fist off, the food was really bad. I had the grilled halibut that turned out to be in-edible!! It tasted rancide and the spice on it was extremely bitter and nasty. The serving consisted of three very small and very thin pieces about the size of the average gold fish, along side this was a huge scoop of rice that was colored brown by what seemed to be some some kind of odd flavoring. My wife had halibut fish and chips and there was so much grease in them they were soggy withit. Her coleslaw looked good but was horrible tasting, as the sauce on it was bitter without any sweetner discernable. Their web page shows the Visa symbol...and there is no "no credit cards" sign...But they do not accept any credit cards. They say after you have already had your meal!

“most consistent and overall best quality in its neighborhood”
Reviewed January 23, 2011

It's wintertime on the northcoast and opening hours of various restaurants seem to vary, During the week the Big wave offers the best. most consistent and reasonably priced breakfast special in its neighborhood : , Manzanita, Nehalem, Wheeler .in particular.
In addition the coffee is of good quality usually fresh and liberally served.
The atmosphere is clean and cozy. Nice fireplace and a calming gigantic aquarium.
Besides the ham and eggs, a good value for the money. I recommend the 2 pancakes.two eggs, and two bacon strips served withe the special boysenberry syrup. The menu is however, much more varied than that.
