After an uninspired pizza dinner the night before, we landed at this beautiful little bistro for breakfast -- what a wonderful way to start the day! Delicious coffee, fresh healthy options, and a great setting with beautiful plants and lots of natural light.

They had an almond poppyseed waffle with orange butter on the menu, but we had cravings for something savory so opted for the cheesy grits with scrambled eggs, spinach, and roasted tomatoes... the perfect balance of richness and fresh flavors.

We also ordered the best $4 breakfast sandwich in the world... green onion biscuit, egg, and bacon... moist and melted in your mouth! Don't miss this spot in Manzanita!

Had booked for a Saturday night and was so pleased as they have only about 4 tables and only open for dinner on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The menu changes weekly and is organic, local and inventive. Prawn soup was delicious, light and flavoursome. Mushroom pate was imaginatively served with a wild rice waffle and apple puree. The rabbit stew was deeply tasty with loads of vegetables and dumplings. A steak came with various 'bits' including horseradish (sorry can't remember what else) and a delicious piece of rock fish was steamed in a vine leaf and served with bean puree and superlative veg. We’re not great drinkers so the vast range of interesting sodas from lemongrass to lavender were a delight and hubby loved the Rogue beer. We shared a light dessert of pumpkin brulee – nicely spiced and just right.
Total was about $75 – a real bargain for the quality. We will be back – even though we live 6,000 miles away

We stopped by Breand and Ocean for a quick lunch today. All of their offerings looked delicious and the place was packed with people enjoying sandwiches and panini. We had the soup of the day and it was wonderful. It is casual and fun and well worth a visit.

Stopped in Manzanita for lunch on our way down the coast in mid-September. This place caught our eye and are we ever glad we went in. Friendly staff, and while it's a "place your order and then they call out your name when it's ready" cafe, the quality and quantity of food prepared is excellent. My wife and I had soup and sandwiches, the latter freshly prepared, coffees and a pastry for desert. I don't recall the exact amount, but it was very reasonable. Sat outside in a patio area, with the sun shining down. It doesn't get any better!!!

Bread and Ocean is an absolute find in Manzanita. I have had dinner there twice now and both times it was both inventive and amazingly delicious. The menu is fresh each week and is always something different. This past trip their ribs with the bourbon sauce were about the best ribs I have ever tested and their orange shortcake was a unique and delicious desert.

The only complaint, no credit cards, cash and checks only.
