I wanted to watch March Madness (college basketball) and stopped into the Sand Dune. Sure enough, they had the games on their big screen and a nice, cushy "directors chair" waiting for me.

Over the course of about 3 hours I observed a nice mix of clientele come and go. Regulars, visitors (like me), and lots of variety. I had several beers and a tasty fish sandwich. The food was generous and economical. My sandwich had two large pieces of fried fish and was so tall I could barely take a bite. The presentation was great too.

I recommend the place highly.

The title pretty much sums it up. There food is quite good and the service is average, especially when you keep in mind that it's a pub. But the prices are a little high for what you get. All in all it's a good place to hang out with locals and feel relaxed.

The desk clerk at our motel suggested we eat at the San Dune Pub, stating that it was "the best place in town". I think she was right!

This is a family-friendly, non smoking pub, within easy walking distance of most of Manzanita. There is a bar and pool table area, a dining area, and also an outside open patio. A big fireplace is on one side of the dining area, and no doubt would be very welcome in the winter.

Entrees are reasonably priced, with nearly all of the menu under $9. They have a good selection of hamburgers, chicken burgers, fish-n-chips and similar entrees. They also have wraps, flat bread sandwiches, light fare, appetizers and soup and salads. Portions are quite large!

My husband had a double-everything "Shaun" burger, which at $15 he felt was was overpriced. However, my grilled chicken club sandwich was nearly too large for me to finish, and was delicious. We also ordered one side of Tater Tots - for $2 - and received a HUGE portion of them. Although we just had soft drinks, they have a large selection of beer and wine and a full bar.

Our server was very friendly and efficient. When we asked about dessert, she said they only had peanut butter pie, but that it was "delicious - she should know - she made it !" So we got an order to go, and it was indeed scrumtious, very light and fluffy.

Excellent fresh food and a homey atmosphere . . . we'll be back!
