We have been coming here for 2 years now and absolutely love it. Upon first arrival we were put in the original building which was small, old, and awful thus requested a change, and were then put into the budd building. 102-106 and 202-206 have beautiful large doors with a view of the ocean. 101, 107, 201 and 207 do not have the view. There are 4 dog friendly rooms in this building, and they are relatively clean. They all include a fireplace and full kitchens as well as 2 beds. Wonderful stay, wonderful staff, wonderful beach, beautiful manzanita.

We stayed in the Original building. We had the room with the best view in the whole building. Our room was above the office and literally across the street from the beach. It was a studio with a king sized bed and a mini kitchen. 4 picture windows with a fantastic view of the beach. Other rooms in the Original building were set back farther from the ocean and had railings just outside the windows. The rooms in the Ashley building were also set back from the beach a bit. The Budd building is a few steps down the street and closer to the ocean. We peaked inside some of the rooms in the Budd building while walking by and they looked very nice. We will try staying in the Budd building in the future. We stayed here off season and it was very affordable. The room was clean, nicely furnished, and had everything we needed for an affordable weekend getaway. We brought much of our food with us and cooked it in the room. The mini kitchen worked well cooking meals for the two of us.

Room Tip: The room directly above the office in the Original Building (room 27 I think) absolutely has the best view.

Still love to stay here. Open the sliding door, walk across the road and take your dogs off the leash to run on the beach. If you're looking for a glass tower with a concierge floor then book a downtown city hotel, but if you want a 50-foot walk to the beach and watch storms come off the ocean, then book here. The only thing I would change is to have a screen on the sliding patio door so it can be open to hear the surf but keep the dogs in.

We booked this place online the night before we stayed here. When we got there to check in, the lady at the front desk was not at all dressed well and when we told her we had a reservation, she looked at us like we were crazy. The room we originally had booked was a $45 a night room with a queen bed; no ocean view. We took our keys and went to the room. When we walked in the room smelled to high heavens of cleaning products. We went back to the office and asked for a better room. We were charged $20 more but it was worth it. We ended up with a queen room with an ocean view, kitchen and fire place. I loved everything about the room accept the kitchen and bathroom area. Don't get me wrong, it all seemed clean just the kitchen and bath were very old.

Not sure if we would stay here again but it did the job for a one night stay.

Room Tip: Pay more $$$$ and get the ocean view! Seriously.

We have stayed here many times. The rooms are dated but clean (the "Budd building" is newer). The view of Neahkahnie mountain/ocean is exceptional. As with all travel, research local history/folklore for a more interesting experience (search "Neahkahnie mountain").
