“Long, bumpy drive out to dig sites.”

Once you get to the rock shop it's still a 30 min. drive up and down a winding, bumpy road to get to any dig sites. When you get back to the shop they can cut your rock open but cannot polish it :(

Had fun looking for thundereggs. Good family run business.

This is a great place for rock enthusiasts, and I have visited it often over 35 years, since my children were small (they are now in their 40s). But one of the owners has a hair-trigger temper, and if your children do the slightest thing wrong, be prepared for an angry lecture. My 9 year old granddaughter picked up a small rock where she shouldn't have, and even though I said I would pay for it as soon as the store opened in the morning, I received a 15-minute diatribe about stealing. A nice place if your entire entourage can behave perfectly.

Prices thru the roof. Spend a significant amount of money and have to beg for a bag-it's all about the money for this huge extended family. Once is good enough. Go take a look and use as reasearch but take a book or talk to the other consumers - the family don't/won't help - sorry but true. Parking is in the direct sun - tiny amount of shade. Not welcoming in the least (lot of shouting at patrons is common - we are expected to be telepathic as there's no signage and it's mishmask but some of the rocks are great if you don't mind the escalated pricing and the attitude. Everyone should go once to experience what to do and not do to one another. Have fun & don't take anything seriiously -noone will care but you. A brief exposure to handling people as 'cattle' gives us clarity and helps remind us there are sound reason why we must treat others with reasonable courtesy.

Access to the thunder egg beds is good and they give you all the instructions you need. The digging can be as easy or as hard as you choose. If you come back from digging reasonably early in the day they will cut your thunder eggs for you.
