We had an opportunity to "test out" the Chinook Winds Hotel this week as part of our "get-a-way." The front desk folks were jovial and set the tone for us to be able to relax. We had just 4-5 steps to get up to our 2nd floor room (instead of a whole flight of stairs). The room was spacious (especially for a coast room), and nicely decorated with historical photos and trim, The trip was worth the ocean view from our room, which was FANTASTIC (as you'll see from our picture)... and there are short paths leading to the beach. But after a wonderful night's sleep, the beds earn our applause!!! You don't have to go to the casino to stay at the hotel!! We had a chance to totally relax and get a great night of sleep! i also think you can often get online discounts on rooms, due to the casino draw -- so put this on your list of ocean hotels to visit!!

Room Tip: Ocean view ... 2nd floor

Service was wonderful, but ordered the pork bellie BLT, Don't, Don't order, I got huge blobs of fat, no meat, nasty! Waitress said she'd talk to the cook.I told her no! I did'nt want another one! Was still charged for it. Prices for food is outrageous! Will never eat there again! Matter of fact I can't eat pork!

Front desk staff is hurried and treat you like a criminal...be prepared to sign your life away just to PROOVE your reservation. 1970s style rooms, no wifi. Ocean view windows covered in seagull poop, they really need to update this place, from the customer service to the shabby carpets in the rooms. The rates are a bit cheap for good reason.

Room Tip: Suites are better, but being they have smoking rooms you still gets wiffs of smoke smell through out.

We spent the night of 9/22/13 at the Chinook Winds Casino Hotel. We were on the 2nd floor in a pet friendly room. There are wooden stairs to the 2nd & 3rd floors. We had 2 queen size beds & the room was clean with a big window over-looking the beach & ocean. We thought the price was quite reasonable & we enjoyed the convenience of the restaurants in the nearby casino.

I stayed in an ocean front king room. Stating the room was spartan would be an overstatement: Bed, TV Stand, Table, 2 chairs, non-descript bathroom. The windows facing the ocean were grime covered - no ameneties, no attempt to make the rooms comfotable - obvisouly the theme is "go gamble!". My friend got a "Compact Casino View Room" - I htink it was call Capmact becasue it was the size of a volkswagon - seriously, there was just enough room so that when you opened the door it just slid by the end of the queen bed - maybe 2" on each side of the bed to a wall. Their slogan is "It's Better at the Beach".. Maybe they should change it to "It's better than sleeping in the rain.... just barely!" Overall you could do much much better (and you really could not do any worse), and with the amount of money the tribes make from the casino, you would think they could at least spruce up the hotel.Really - don't waste your money staying here. I will never be back.

Room Tip: If you have to stay here - as a last resort - don't get a ground floor room.
