This is only one of two casinos with a child care center so it is nice for my husband and I to be able to have fun at the casino while our kids have fun at the kids play place/child care center. However, I have NEVER seen a hotel with such few channels, on old tvs mind you with horrible pictures. I made the mistake of flipping through their whopping 10 channels with my young boys and we unfortunately saw something on Showtime that is now scarred in our minds forever. It was before 12:30am and for a non cable payer, I had no idea that would be on their stations. Called to complain and the night clerk told me to talk to management in the morning. Well, no management was there in the morning, and the clerks on duty didn't care a less. These people do what they want, charge what they want, don't remodel or update, and just take take take. If you are going to have porn, please warn people checking in with kids who are there thinking you are kid friendly since you have a kid center. Thanks for the worst experience of my life.

We went to the lounge for drinks, gave the bartender credit card to start a tab. We each got one drink, sat there for half an hour while she was at the other end of the bar b.s. ing with with other employees. She came back once to bri
ng trail mix but never asked if we wanted another drink. I would suggest, if you want a drink , go to the liquor store and make your own.

I finally had a chance to stay over night in one of the hotel rooms here and I was pleasantly surprised. It's hard to find an ocean view room for under $100 on the Oregon coast. The rooms here are clean and well equiped. The casino and hotel are still close enough to other area attractions and they also provide transportation to and from locations in Lincoln City.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the top floor for the best view.

The Chinook Winds Hotel consists of two large building complexes: budget accommodations without balcony and a smaller deluxe building of small suites with balcony and spa and exercise room. We stayed in the deluxe room since it was only $125 with casino player's card. The exterior of the building is underwhelming but the room is amazing: large, modern and nicely appointed with 2 LED TVs, fireplace, separate dinning and bedroom area, and balcony overlooking the beach. I've stayed in hotels that cost three times as much and were not nearly as nice. And, yes, it was squeaky clean and quiet save for the pounding of the Pacific and the cries of gulls.

This place is all about long walks on the beach and basically a hop and skip from the room and, bam, you're treading sand. The beach is every bit as nice as Seaside but with far fewer humans.

Of course the 800 pound gorilla in the room is the Chinook Winds Casino, about a 5 minute walk across the parking lot (they have shuttles on call as well). If you can control yourself and stay out of the casino, this is a great hotel and location for a relaxing vacation. My brief time in the casino was somewhat soured by security stopping me from taking pictures. I shoot inside Vegas casinos all the time but apparently Indian casinos forbid it due to superstition or fear. Not sure as the guard wouldn't tell me. Also, unlike Vegas, no free alcoholic beverages for players. Finally, the Chinook was the tightest casino I have ever played in. Nobody ever seemed to win.

My main purpose when I walked in the casino was to visit the buffet. It was terrible. The worse I have ever had. Twenty minutes away Spirit Mountain has one of the best buffets in the state so you'd think the Chinook would try harder.

Basically the Chinook hotel has a great location, killer view, wonderful rooms but a poor buffet and casino. I'd stay there again to enjoy the beach but will stay out of the casino.

We enjoyed this location. The staff was very nice. Accommodations comfortable. Great view of the beach and easy access to lots of things. Wasn't really WOWed but don't have any complaints.

The restaurant on site is phenomenal!

Room Tip: There are 3 levels - stay in the middle one! Best view!

We stayed in rm 204 of the 4 story building next to the beach. After reading some of the reviews, we were apprehensive of what the hotel rm would be like. It is far away from the casino building. The room was large with a separate living room containing a sink g table, gas switch fireplace, refrigerator, and great views of the beach and ocean right off the balcony. We had a king sized bed that was very comfortable for our short stay. We had two 32" flat screen TVs . Bathrooms were clean and had granite-look corian counters. Separate sinks and vanities. This was a junior suite at $165 after getting a player card first and our AAA membership. Carpet throughout in very clean and met expectations for a decent hotel room. We were her at the end of August

We stayed in D-376. It was 59.99 and you get what you paid for. The room was as small as an average bedroom... Maybe even smaller. Yes, the walls are thin.. Only because there is only one door separating you from your neighbor. There were four rooms per section... Really small! The plus side? The bed was comfy... And it's right on the beach.
