We went to a pet store and I asked the owner about really yummy places to eat. This was the first one he mentioned, literally right down the street from our (awful) motel.
We didn't have reservations, but didn't have to wait too terribly long. They had been out of the house cabernet, so I ordered a dirty martini. YUM! We were taken to a cozy table in the corner, and it was perfect for just the two of us. It felt private and was next to a window, so we didn't feel too cramped.
The food, the service--TOP NOTCH. Everything was fresh, we had halibut and salmon I think and the fabulous server (whose name I forget) suggested a zinfandel with my meal since they were out of the cab. OMG, it was INCREDIBLE! After my exuberant reaction, she leaned in and said, "This is one of my favorites, too and you can get it by the bottle at Safeway, right down the street". YIPPEEE! It's a Brazin Old Vine Zinfandel out of California, roughly about $15-17 a bottle. I've actually been able to order a 1/2 case through my local Safeway and got 10% off.
ANYWAY, we had such a marvelous time that we came back the next night and asked for her, but she wasn't working. I would suggest making reservations, which we did the 2nd time. I certainly DID order the same wine and bought a bottle at the Safeway on our way home to Fishhawk Lake, just in case!
