“Very quiet. Very. Quiet.”

As other reviewers have mentioned, this is a unique, quirky motel. It is not a cookie cutter motel run by a big corporation. It's small, old, and packed with antiques, collectibles and items of historical interest. The room we were in was smallish, but fine for two people - as long as you watched where you were walking. There's no network TV, but they have lots of current DVDs you can check out. There's popcorn, with all the butter you could possibly want. Cookies, fresh baked and excellent. No phones in rooms, no shampoo, no hair dryer. Lovely handmade soaps, though. Breakfast is very good; served restaurant-style. The reason I'm not scoring this higher is that our plumbing wasn't working well (new, low flow toilet was just too stingy with the water) and the shower drain was very slow. The owner called us when we got home, to apologize profusely. It's obvious that they want people to enjoy their stay. They are friendly and helpful, but not the pestering sort. .. The other reason for the low score is that coffee at breakfast was absolutely horrible. The owner figured they just didn't pay attention to the amount of coffee used, because they buy the best coffee they can find. The coffee in the room was fresh beans with a grinder, and it was absolutely perfect - but, we made it ourselves. The beans were good. I really liked the motel, my husband did not - because he couldn't watch the Golf Channel. (Poor guy. ha ha ;) )

Room Tip: The manager probably would have put us in another room, if we had asked. They are very accommodating...

This was one of quirkiest Inns we've ever stayed at! Despite staff looking a little flustered when we first arrived at the Inn, they were friendly, helpful and made us feel welcomed. We got the two bedroom "dog suite" which means that every knick knack, figurine, painting, picture in the room (and there were plenty) represented some breed of dog. It felt like we where in a private rustic cabin, a dog lovers cabin. Traffic noise was easily heard if the windows were left open, but that was not enough to detract from the overall experience. And then there was the cosy dinning room with plenty of interesting aquatic themed items hanging from the ceiling and on the tables. But the highlight of the dinning room was the delicious home made breakfast! If you are in Lincoln City, this is definitely the Inn to stay at!

If you want to stay in a sterile white box go to Best Western or motel six, this is not that.
Cute cozy clean an eclectic, this historic hotel will keep you interested in where you're at for multiple visits. it's relatively affordable and comes with a served sit down breakfast that was very good. Staff is affable and we had a fun time here. We will definitely stop here again when in the area.

We had a unique situation in that the Anchor Inn worked with us in accommodating a family reunion. With 50 people coming into to town, we were able to book the entire hotel for our family event. Kip and his staff were exceptional to work with and the entire family loved the 4 nights we were there. The rooms provided enough flexibility to allow each family to have their own space and the lodge, dining room and outside areas provided the right amount of space to gather as groups.

The breakfasts and dinners were top notch and the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. They made hosting a family reunion fairly painless.

My wife and I have stayed there in the past and enjoyed it and they way they worked with my family for this reunion has made me a huge fan of the Anchor Inn. As mentioned by others, each room is a unique experience so each time you go you can stay in a different room and feel like you are there for the first time unlike the cookie cutter rooms of most hotels.

Whether you are there as an individual, a couple, or as a large group, this hotel works. Try it. You will like it.

We just got home from a week long trip to Lincoln City and absolutely LOVED The Anchor Inn! we stayed in the "Horse room", ( the cabin rooms have a theme, and the lodge rooms just have amazing collections. The owner is an avid antique collector, and the hotel is like a museum-art gallery-showroom all in one.
The home made hot breakfast is simply the best I've had ( and we travel a LOT, all over the world) Seafood breakfast enchilada, Swedish pancakes, coffee cake to die for.
The BEST things? When a friend recommended it, and told me it was full of antiques, I thought dust and cobwebs. Nothing could be further from that- no dust no cobwebs. I love a clean bathroom that smells faintly of bleach, and the Anchor inn delivers.
The pool table room, with an actual Wurlitzer jukebox, with period 45 records was my 9 year old sons favorite place. I loved the upstairs, where there is a huge box of old vintage viewmaster slides. The park in the backyard, adorned with local art is great too. This place has so much to offer, great service, friendly staff- its run by a very friendly couple named Jim and Tory- be sure to ask for the local scoop from them. In Short head there for a fun place in Lincoln City.

Room Tip: Rooms toward the back seem quieter, the road out front can be loud. Check out popcorn and movies, C...

This is one of the most amazing inns I have ever stayed at. We stayed in the lodge and were totally taken care of free popcorn, movies and cookies and homemade breakfast, it is so worth it to stay at this inn that is a family run business, do not pass it by, We stayed in the lodge which had the best atmosphere

The Inn has obviously been around awhile and is furnished with assorted interesting "stuff." We enjoyed the setting inside and out. The pros: we found the atmosphere pleasant, the evening cookies and popcorn. It was a suite and that was nice. We enjoyed a walk down to the beach overlook. The cons: We stayed here two nights and were surprised that our room was not cleaned, not even the bed made, for the second night. That was a put off for us. There was no shampoo in the shower but fortunately we brought our own., There were two breakfast options (1) a Swedish pancake or (2) a salmon taco or wrap of some kind served with potatoes, fruit, and scrambled eggs. My husband enjoyed option 2 both days. I went with the pancake primarily because I couldn't get past the idea of fish for breakfast. The Swedish pancake itself was very good but it was served with nothing. It really would have been great with the addition of a little protein - link sausage or bacon. I've given it a three based on the unmade bread and breakfast with no protein. Either one of those things might have moved it up a notch.
