Lincoln City is over coffeed, Starbucks is here with a least a dozen other places which vary in coffee quality, available food and ambience. Some of them are a place with a good cup of coffee, some of them don't. Some of them offer food that goes beyond scones or cookies, most of them don't.
My favorite place is Pacific Grind in the Taft area. It's a pleasant space, good music playing, outside area for those rare sunny days in Oregon. The wifi is free and fast and no one is timing your use of it or asking for an extra charge.
I love the lattes, hot, strong and robust. The food is great. The seafood bisque soup is as good as I have had in any high restuarant in Oregon, velvety with nice chunks of fish. Tried the corn chowder today and it was lovely, just a enough pepper to give it pleasant kick.
There is a nice variety of hot and cold sandwiches. My favorite is the Turkey Baca, turkey, pesto, bread stuffing with just a bit of cranberry. It tastes like Thanksgiving dinner pressed into a pannini.
JB and the staff offer friendly service. There is a drive thru if you are in a hurry. If you want soup or a sandwich, get there by 3:00 pm, the kitchen shuts down then. Coffee and snacks available until 6:00 pm. There is a lunch rush at noon, but after that it is a great place to sit and work online.
A very comfortable refuge from the winter rain.
