You're looking for some unique and (IMHO) odd menu choices....things like a peanut butter bacon burger. Many of the unique items seemed to be predicated on the premise that fat greasy food can always be made even less healthy for you. Don't get me wrong, I like a certain amount of fat in my meals, but even I have to draw the line somewhere!
DH and I went out of our way to have breakfast here (based on reviews), biking from the campground we were staying in. Decor is cute, place is clean (although when people started tromping down the stairs we were glad we hadn't seated ourselves at the cozy table under the open stairway), service was fine. We ordered the omelet with sourdough toast and potatoes. At least one person noted the eggs were blah...I prefer to season my own, so I thought they were fine, although the omelette was barely acceptably warm. The toast was cold and served unbuttered. Fortunately the pat of butter served alongside was nearly melted already. The only thing on the plate served hot was the potatoes, which were very overcooked and greasy...in fact I didn't eat them (DH did, but he's like Mikey...he'll eat anything!). I don't normally take pics of my meals but I wish I had taken a photo of the potatoes to post here. As an unprofessional home cook, I can get an omelette, potatoes, and toast served...all at the proper temperature. I expect no less from a restaurant, and especially when it's a fairly simple meal.
