“Food is still great however service was lacking”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

Had lunch there with friends. Food was great but this time service was lacking. It was not during the rush of lunch time but 2pm so it was not crowded. Had to ask for a refill of iced tea but the waitress continued to talk with her friends at the table next to me for 5 minutes while I continued to wait for the refill. Check was brought to our table w/o even asking if anyone wanted coffee or dessert. Was not impressed. Service to me as just as important as the food. I felt the waitress had an attitude and mine was certainly put off by her ignoring my refill in lieu of chatting with friends at the next table... it was not as good as when I was there last time.

“Perfect Happy Hour!!”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Unexpected afternoon stop, on a sunny afternoon, when a friend and I weren't ready to go home. Got an lovely dappled-shade outdoor table, new menu, so tuna-tartar and snails for $4 each (!), ice-cold martinis of some sort, absolutely devoted and charming waiter (granted it was from 5-6 something, so not busy), but everything a place couldn't/wouldn't be if I had tried to plan it. Their food is to die for. I've read a few reviews here that say "Meh" and I am not sure I have ever had anything there that wasn't excellent- and over the years, I've eaten there quite a few times. It is a suburban jewel- take advantage of it if you can.

“Lovely Atmosphere”

If you like eating tapas style this is the place for you. Plus the wine and desert selection was awesome. Great vibe to the restaurant and service was excellent.

“Nice outside seating”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

I've been here twice and have sat outside both times. It's a nice place to meet friends. The food and service were both good.

“Yummy food icky service”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

This restaurant has some of the best breakfasts and pastries in Lake Oswego. The new location is beautiful and has a wonderful patio. What I don't understand (this coming from someone who has been the restaurant business for 15 years) is why they would make customers wait over a half an hour to an hour for a table inside a half full restaurant and a patio that has two tables seated. Understaffing on a Sunday, and a Sunday that is Fathers Day, is just stupid. Having one server on a patio that can only handle two tables at a time is ridiculous. The host is unfriendly which makes everyone slightly grumpy. Once seated, service is slow and inexperienced. Servers here have a lot of support, food runners, bussers, and water and coffee people. Which confuses me more on why the staff would be swimming, especially just after opening. I think we will try to avoid going on weekends. We have experienced on occasion on weekdays, experienced, happy servers.
If it weren't for the food, we, of course, wouldn't go. The pastries are delightful. Beautifully done. Croissants are light and buttery pure perfection. Can't go wrong with just about anything on the breakfast menu. The portions are generous and could be easily shared. Coffee is good and freely poured. You can help yourself while waiting as well.
If you have patience go enjoy your food. And try to ignore the mediocre service.
