“I'd stay again”
Reviewed May 16, 2011

It's not the Ritz but it's ok. The shower nozzles need replacing, the lamps need smaller shades and the bulbs should be replaced with normal warm-glow bulbs. Those eco-friendly ones are too cold and stark for a motel room. Three very cheap things, that would make a big difference. The mattress was med-firm, which was fine. And now for the good stuff. The person at reception was friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean, and smelled fresh. There was a good size tv with lots of channels to choose from. However best of all, there is double-glazing which eliminates a lot of traffic noise from the highway. I would happily stay there again, for this one reason alone. There was no coffee maker in the room but there's coffee in the office, plus a wonderful coffee stand (30 sec walk) and a Dairy Queen (45 sec walk). However there was a fridge in the room. This was a good budget place to stay for our roadtrip stopover.
PS I couldn't find the hairdryer.

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend, the rooms were real nice. We booked a few rooms and the beds were all extremely comfortable. I went to ask the management about the beds and they said that all the rooms had new postrepedic beds. The sink vanities were marble granite and so truly don't see the difference in paying half the price at all. This room was just as pleasant as staying in a chain hotel minus a swimming pool that we usually don't have time to use. They had free wireless not a large breakfast but still provided us with pastries and coffee. No problems at all, very affordable rooms, and ours even had microwave and refrigerators. Make sure to view a room, that's how we decided to stay here.

The rooms here are basic. The beds are a bit spongy but the linens are clean as well as the bathroom. The room smelled of smoke but was a non smoking room. Breakfast was a standard continental breakfast.

The inn keeper asked if we needed rags to clean the bike, which was a nice perk.

It is one of only 3-4 hotels in La Pine. While it is not a luxury place by any means, the staff was friendly, the room was clean, the carpet looked new and the granit countertop was a surprize. It was well worth the $70 we paid. The wireless Internet was kind of slow, but tolerable.

The hotel is located on a busy highway, with a railroad across a street, so bring your ear plugs. There is a pizza place next door and Gordy's Truck stop is 200 yards away. Don't forget to treat yourself to the best omelet in the world at Gordy's Restaurant.
