Our shuttle driver from the Running Y Ranch recommended this museum to us as a “must see” while visiting downtown Klamath Falls. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring this museum. While housed in not a very large building, we found the exhibits to be very well laid out and interesting. Allow yourself about an hour or so to view all the displays.

Hadn't been to the county museum in about a year. What a change~ the exhibits were different, while hanging on to some favorites. Really inexpensive, great for 1/2 day with kids something different to do. Will go again this summer.

The county museum has a very well organized group of interesting exhibits including ecology, early history and Native American artifacts. This is perfect activity for a family with children.

First, I should say that whatever this museum's faults, it's worth visiting. The place has heart, and the area's history is worth stopping for. That said, I'm very disappointed at the quality of printed information in the section on the Modoc War--it looks like it was hastily typed up in the 1950s by someone who had little regard for historical accuracy and even less for people with dark skin. Which is a pity, because the materials themselves are priceless, and the information could be easily improved even with a hasty fact-check on Wikipedia. But the more recent installations (e.g., on forestry) are well done, the staff is friendly, the bookstore offers hard-to-find academic publications from OIT, and if you're ever lucky enough to happen by on a summer evening when there's a community event you might get to hear some local fiddlers.

Lots to see about the community development. Great displays and historical explanations. Enjoyed the artifacts and museum pieces.
